Has anyone heard of movement on the waitlist, especially for OOS students?
I know of two students who got in off the UNC waitlist mid March. One was OOS and one was IS. Love any other insights. Thanks.
People you know personally? Any particular hooks, and how were they notified?
Both girls are friends of friends so I don’t know the details. They are good students but not recruited athletes, first gen, etc. Both are connected to UNC through family and family friends. However - I know many alumni children like that who never got accepted last year nor have been accepted this year. My guess is that these yeses came in parallel with RD admissions decisions.
So they are both legacy kids?

My daughter has been on the waitlist since Jan 26. She has not heard of anyone getting off waitlist yet. In past years, most movement off the waitlist started by mid-May. This year with deposits being delayed until May 15, it may be the end of May. That is tough on all the waitlisted kids who have hope and are having a hard time getting excited about another choice.

Anyone hearing anything?
Not extremely exciting or indicative of anything but S just received a letter from UNC asking him to remove himself from the waitlist if he is no longer interested in UNC … otherwise they will give him a final update by June 30. Cheers!
Someone on the Paying for College Facebook group posted that their OOS daughter got off the waitlist yesterday.

Any news from c-hill on wl other than that email last week? We plan to put down a deposit elsewhere on May 15 but still are hoping for wl movement. anyone else ?
Nada. From what observing at other schools, doubt we will see anything till sometime after 5/15 since people seem to be waiting right until deadlines to commit and obviously admissions is aware of this trend and they will need to evaluate their numbers 5/16 and go from there …

Movement in ATL yesterday.
When you say movement in X city, does that mean you know of multiple offers at schools/regions, or just that your DC in X city received an offer? Does it feel like UNC offered a big wave or a smaller select group?
