@chb088 in wake county the same. What I meant is that the stats of previous years admissions in terms of weighted GPA seem to be too high to be on the 5 point scale . NC high schools were the only ones I know of to be on 6 points scale. They fixed it this year to be like the rest of the country, so we can maybe expect this years stats to be with lower weighted GPA due to that adjustment
Yes. I have a 4.5 right now but some of my friends last year had 5.1âs and 5.2âs
I hope so because then that would make me feel a -little- better about my GPA
I mean incoming freshmen in 2018 had an average weighted GPA of 4.59. I believe it had to be on the 6 point scale, when the non- weighted GPA was 3.75. So this year, with NC high schools being on 5 point scale, the average unweighted GPA would be about same, but the weighted one would be lower.
I see the whole thing about emails now lol. Did anyone get a âtime to apply for financial aid emailâ after applying? I got mine 12/19 and I think it means nothing butâŠ?
Correct, that means nothing
@dkahfdfhk I also got an email for me to apply to NC residency because my dad is a professor there, but I cannot because I am not his dependent.
Sigh.
I used to be good with my chances of getting in. Heard of people with 1270s and high 1300s getting in with Ok ECâs. A 50% in state acceptance rate and shii. This site really messing w me
@dkahfdfhk Two things. It seems a lot of people on this forum are OOS meaning they are going to have higher stats in general. Also, people on CC just tend to have higher stats. It is a bunch of people who really really want to get into a âgoodâ college. CC is not representative of the majority who applied. Especially in-state.
Is UNC even that good? I know someone there and he is kinda stoopid.
@dragon8301 My guess is his grammar and spelling are better than yours though. :-q
@spacebunsweetie youâre probably right. I thought a 1450 was a decent score but seeing all these 1550âs with 5 million ECâs makes me feel dumb ??
@dkahfdfhk what major did you apply for?
@spacebunsweetie my top was business but I probably wonât get that. I just wanna get in so I donât have to stress
@dkahfdfhk Iâm worried cause I applied for biology and thatâs their most popular major so I donât know if itâs more selective
@spacebunsweetie are you oos?
@dkahfdfhk No Iâm in state but from Mecklenburg County
I have seen a few comments about how living in Mecklenburg county can be a hinder. Why is that? Also, do they use the address your school is at or house address?
@spacebunsweetie do you have pretty good stats? I was looking at scatter grams on naviance earlier and I rest in the green zone with a bunch of other people. You should check that if you have that at your school. I am seeing that people from my school get accepted consistently with roughly a 35-40% acceptance rate. Most of the accepted have 1380+ SAT and above a 3.8 GPA (UW).
Mecklenburg, orange and wake counties are very strong, so the class ranking is very competitive and there are limitations for how many student from each in state county can be accepted
