UNC Class of 2024 EA Discussion Thread

I got two emails. One said they got my Fafsa form and another said I need to report outside scholarship. Did everybody get the same email?

@collegeacc820 what county do u live in

My daughters letter doesn’t state a major either. Can anyone provide some light into where others are seeing a major?

My daughter got those emails as well.

Son Waitlisted/offered application to Global Launch

@H20resqdogs I had not heard of the Global Launch program prior to your post and I looked it up. It sounds like an amazing opportunity. Is this something your family is considering?

accepted in-state for chemistry
Wake County
Asian female
1590 SAT (1600 SS)
GPA 3.5UW/4.1W

How do you know if you qualified for in-state tuition or not? Because State has all that info on their Wolfpaw portal but Chapel doesn’t have anything about tuition and being oos/in-state

When you set up your connectcarolina account click on personal information and on the left side there is an NC Residency block, click it and it will open up and you will see your NC residency info.

@bash78 Do you have to be committed to create an ONYEN to access ConnectCarolina?

@Redi2cruise2024 Yes, he was very interested and he has applied. He plans to do study abroad at some point anyway, as he plans on majoring in Linguistics, so he figured it was worth a shot.

No, my daughter was able to create an ONYEN without committing.

No, you do not have to be committed to create the onyen. You need to because that gives you access to your Heel Mail which is where all communication from UNC CH will go. My daughter already had 3 emails from office of financial aid.

Is anyone else having trouble logging in to the myCarolina portal? It says my account is not found when it was perfectly fine yesterday.

For future applicants.

OOS Son was accepted Early Action.

Congratulations to everyone that was accepted and best of luck to everyone that did not get the answer they wanted. It has to be nearly impossible to truly judge how qualified someone is when you must review 40,000 candidates. Good luck and congratulations on wherever your studies lead you.

@desklamp20 my daughter is still able to login into her ConnectCarolina account.

I’m British so i don’t have a SSN—should I contact the PID office?

@IRunOnEspresso found this on the FQA section of the PID website:

I am not a US citizen. How can I find my PID?
If you have a Social Security Number (SSN), please see below. If you do not have an SSN please contact the PID Office for assistance.

@bash78 Thank you so much! I’ll send them an email

@H20resqdogs Congratulations! I thought it sounded fabulous and exciting. Does it say how many applicants are considered. I think I saw someone mention only 50 spots. Very different pathway. I would have loved something like this for “me” in high school. ?

Is it just me that feels this is a win win opportunity? I also thought the cost was excellent. I hope you post back on the application and acceptance experience.

what what is the groupme? i was accepted in state!!
