Are we still banking on decisions coming out tomorrow? I know that historically it has been around the 25th/26th that they are released.
Hopefully! We’ll see, because someone mentioned that they called UNC admissions and they told them that decisions would be out sometime next week.
I suspect UNC will take nearly all the time they’ve given themselves under the published notice day of “by the end of January” - I’m not sure if that is a function solely of volume, or of their holistic review which takes time, juggling numbers, sorting out a larger than other schools number of applicants who are in the pick one out of two good applicants, or some combination thereof.
Regardless the wait is challenging…
No PID here and my daughter did enter her SS # on application so you might have something there. There was a similar hack for Clemson and it turned out to be accurate. Some clever applicant also figured out a hack to figure out UMichigan a few days before (admitted applicants had a red X next to final transcripts). Good luck to all!!
Everyone check for a pid so we can see!! I have one now im getting my hopes up
And calling the school and asking is a waste of time. No school is going to admit a hack works. Both Clemson and Michigan denied it. @saltypretzel I hope it is accurate for you!
My son has a PID and did enter his SS# on his application.
are you are you sure put in ss number
what a what are his stats and oos or in srare
For reference I am OOS NY, IBDP candidate, 32 ACT, 95.15 wGPA, a lot of ECs, science research awards, leadership, volunteering
yes i am sure i put in SSN, i thought it was mandatory
@beach1234 Are you 100% sure that you entered SS?
I’m going to point out that it is very easy to accidentally type a wrong digit when entering so much information. Perhaps a mistyped SS number could be why a PID might not show. Just looking at this thread alone it seems the majority have one and we know Chapel Hill’s acceptance rate does not support that.
My son is in state, 4.4 GPA, 31 ACT, 1280 SAT, enrolled in all AP classes our school offers, Captain of Varsity basketball team, Student Body VP + other clubs, led a science camp for disadvantaged kids, works as an lifeguard and Interned for our districts congressman. Legacy applicant, both parents and sisters.
Didn’t everyone enter their SSN on their applications? I thought it was required. Also, anybody can find their PID on the link that was posted earlier if I’m not wrong (but pls correct me if I am lol)
I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure it had to like load and say that the SSN was approved so you didnt enter an incorrect one. that might’ve been for another school tho
@hopetc I am 100% sure. Good luck! My daughter was accepted to University of Michigan so we were just waiting on Chapel Hill for a final decision.
“Prospective students will have a PID created upon completion of Guest ID creation. The way in which students are notified of their PID depends on the admissions office with which they have applied. Any student who is either new, transferring or readmitted to the University will be able to create an Onyen upon acceptance.” - from UNC’s website for Finance and Operations.
When I try to login to my Mycarolina portal I get a message saying “503 error- Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string”. This just started happening this morning, and all the portals for my other schools work just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Waiting for Chapel and State is driving me crazy because I have stuff to do but I don’t do it because I’m checking the portals every 5 minutes
Wait, mine was working like 10-15 minutes ago but now I’m getting the same 503 error message…
