Either way though, we are still waiting the same amount of time for decisions.
Anyone elses SAT/ACT just show up on the portal as missing? I could’ve sworn SAT/ACT scores werent even on the checklist…
@IvyBound511 mine are still there
Sometimes admissions staff forgets to check items off of the to do list for some students as they go through so many different documents/scores.
@IvyBound511 it does not show that any are required for me. I would email or call them.
One of the deadlines for my application pieces got extended to 4/5. They said they release decision all at once, so I have a feeling it wont be the 5th, but rather the week after that.
Ugh. I hope not. I really need to know sooner than later. Not just for my own nerves, but I’ve got to start apartment searching. My lease will be up in May where I live now.
My application did update with “Waived: ACT/SAT Scores”
The suspense continues while we wait for decisions
If you’re applying as a junior, they do not require that you submit SAT/ACT scores.
Will having 57 hours at end of spring semester make it a lot harder to get in vs. having 60? I am taking 2 classes over the summer at cc that will put me over 60. They have asked for my sat scores today as well.
If you will have 60+ transferable credits before you start at UNC, you will be regarded as a junior. Statistically UNC accepts and enrolls more junior transfer applicants.
Hey I’m at Emory too, applying as a transfer! Good Luck! @atlanta1999
But how will they look at it right now for making a decision about admitting me or not? I guess I have to send in sat scores and just see what happens. Will they consider how close I am to junior status?
@hbh2017 I would reach out to admissions. Maybe if you provide documentation that you’re registered for summer classes then they may waive the requirement. I don’t know, but they would be the people who can provide you with a solid answer
If you applied as a junior, you should not have to submit your SAT/ACT scores. If you applied as a sophomore but are able to prove you will have junior status upon starting at UNC in the fall, then they can possibly take away that SAT/ACT requirement. Otherwise, I’m not sure what to say other than your decision may be delayed. @hbh2017
Ok thanks. I don’t mind sending in the sat scores, I just don’t want being put into the sophomore status to ruin my chances of getting in. Hopefully they would still consider that 57 is really close to 60.
@JordanBelfort1 I would reach out to admissions! In last year’s thread someone had a similar issue and then found out the day of decisions that their own decision would be delayed because Carolina never received one of their application pieces.
Pretty sure the Common Application let you fill in if you’re going to be matriculating as a junior/60+.
I did mark 60 or more hours because I was including taking a class over the summer. But registration for summer has not even started so no way to prove registration. I just wonder if having 57 hours is looked at the same as having only 30 hours when making admission decisions.
Instinctually, I would think that they would recognize that you’re very close to junior status already. It is a holistic process, so I would assume that is taken into account for acceptance. Once admitted, then you can work out your status
