@UNCISMYDREAM No, sorry. I had 14 through the university and 12 transfer credits through community college courses I took in high school.
I am an in-state student, looking to transfer from UNC Charlotte to UNC Chapel Hill
My current stats:

Gender: Female

Major: Psychology (College of Humanities and Social Sciences)
Classes Previously Taken: (16 Credit Hours)
-College Algebra: A
-Geography: A
-Intro to Psychology: A
-Liberal Studies (Ethical Studies): A
-University Writing: A
Classes Currently Taking: (16 Credit Hours)

I previously applied to Chapel Hill as Undecided but was rejected
Let me know if you need anymore information
For those reapplying. I personally think reapplying will either give you an acceptance or waitlist. I don’t think UNC would reject reapplying applicants unless your GPA is significantly below the average.
Heads up transferees: A couple of days ago I submitted my application and UNC’s applicant status portal says it’s missing my transcripts, even though I submitted them through The Common App.
Might want to go ahead and submit them (and your high school transcript) directly to UNC.
Connect Carolina is pretty slow to take off to do list items. I also submitted my transcripts (both high school and community college) directly to UNC when I applied in 2018 and it took up to two weeks for some of those items to be taken off the Admisisons items to do list after I sent them to UNC. Don’t be alarmed if it takes awhile. They have tens of thousands of freshmen applicants along with a couple thousand transfer applicants.
What I don’t like is how Connect is asking for my HS transcripts when The Common App made no mention if it.
Hi guys! I’m applying for a transfer for my sophomore year. This is my second time applying to UNC. Was rejected as a first-year applicant from high school.
Going for a Communications/PR major.
I took 18 credit hours at Elon University: 4.0.
Am currently taking 17 credit hours at my local community college, will most likely to have a 4.0
Left Elon after fall semester due to finances and overall unhappiness there.
ACT: 26
High school GPA: 4.5 weighted, took a ton of IB classes (coming in with 4 credits)
Total credits: 39
I have a ton of extracurriculars from high school and college, plus a really great recommendation from an Elon professor.
Really hoping to get in! Chance me, please!
@srb2000 I think you’ve got a great chance, with the only question mark being your test scores (how much weight they give them on your app). They certainly aren’t bad, so I definitely think you’ll be competitive. Good luck!
@penntousc thanks so much! I wrote my essays on what I think that can correlate to my poor ACT score: I was stalked/harassed/bullied my freshman and half of sophomore year. I wrote about how that experience affected my drop in grades but then I picked up the pieces of myself and my grades my junior year and beyond!
@tkf115 I just replied to you on the NC state one, so like I said there your college career looks really solid. The only thing that would hold you down a bit for UNC would be your high school stats and your test scores.
@NCMAN888 I think your chances look good, considering your college GPA is high. I think if you write some great essays to help the holistic approach you should have a good chance. Did you apply to UNC before? The only questionable aspect is your ACT score.
Do you guys have problem inputting the UNC specific essays to the Common App? UNC website says we can have 200-250 words. However, on Common App, we can only input up to 1250 characters and a few of my last sentence left out due to this. Do you guys have the same issue?
You just have to edit to meet Common’s requirements.
Alright, just submitted my app and I’m terrified. Only thing that’s holding me back is my HS GPA (3.4 UW, 3.5 W), but here are what my stats look like:
College GPA: 4.0 (38 transferable credits, 13 of those graded)
SAT: 1400 (720, 680)
I took 4 APs, (Two 5s and two 3s)
Major: Political Science or Economics
Jobs: Work a part time job atm
Activities: Tons of leadership positions from HS, I’m also an econ club member
Also in state if it matters
It still makes no sense that UNC ask 200-250 words but on Common App only up to 1250 chars.
@123nai123 I think your stats look great! The only thing is that they might have wanted to see a little bit more college campus involvement from where you already are.
@UNCISMYDREAM 1250 characters are about 625 words, give or take.
@srb2000 1250 characters with space are about 200 words. I don’t know how you got 625 words
@UNCISMYDREAM Ah-my bad. I haven’t had any issues putting in my essays! The only advice I can give is to edit them down.
@UNCISMYDREAM type them up in google docs or word and then just paste them in the box. Should work just fine
