Wait we didn’t have to write a statement of transfer or some explanation for why we are transferring right? I know it’s way too late haha but im reading stuff and thinking "did I forget something?
@bmcfmm246 nope! it was actually a common app question last year. this year, they reworked common app to accommodate for transfer students. no more essay!
If we don’t hear back tomorrow…will it be Friday then?
I’m transferring in with a 4.0 last semester and either a 4.0 or 3.9 this semester, dependent on my math grade. I had an upward trend in my high school grades, so hopefully, that helped me.
Is it weird that I feel like I got some of my nerves out last week with each day that we thought it would be? Maybe it’ll come rushing back tomorrow…but right now I’m fairly calm
3.91 (current) most likely a 3.93 when these last 9 credits are included. 64 credits total.
And yes, a good gpa is good, but it’s not a golden ticket.
Just for reference in case any 2020 hopefuls read this…
my current GPA is a 3.88. (Deans list two semesters President’s list once)
Applying with 55 credit hours (60+ by this summer so I’ll still have junior status)
Extracurricular wise: I’m the chair for SGA senators at my cc, participating on a staff/faculty/student council for administrative and college-wide issues, member of the disciplinary review grievance committee for student conduct, and I work part-time for my school as an orientation leader.
Misc: taking 6 hours at NCSU this semester through the cooperating Raleigh colleges program
My essays touched on my organization of weekly student-led protests in downtown Raleigh that were featured on the nightly news when I was in high school and the role activism/politics plays in my identity. Also wrote about my self-funded trip backpacking across Europe for a month after my senior year and how I may be able to bring a wider perspective to campus.
OH and my family’s income is around 40-50k annually. I’m pretty nervous considering the degree of variability in who they admit, but I guess we’ll see whenever they decide to stop torturing us! Wishing you all the best of luck :-).
Is it possible that we get our decisions tomorrow? or is it just Friday that they give out decisions?
I don’t believe decisions have ever been released as a whole on a Monday before. We should expect Friday.
im holding out hope that we’ll have our decisions tomorrow. so far, everything about this years admission process has strayed from routine!
Hey guys, not to add to everyones anxiety, but I called NC state a few weeks ago and they told me transfer decisions would be out on the 15th of April. I’m not sure if UNC has the same policy since they’re a North Carolina state school as well. In any case I hope we end up getting them earlier and I’ve been psychotically checking mycarolina
round 2 of anxious waiting! hopefully some great news sometime this week
I think when you call admissions they will give you either the wrong or published date, regardless of what is actually going to happen 110% of the time. You can go through previous threads where people said they talked to admissions and it rarely happens when claimed.
Additionally, they’re not the same policy. UNC and NC State released their decisions a week apart last year.
So i’m not exactly sure how UNC does everything, but 2 out of 3 of the schools i’ve heard back from so far have been on a Monday so fingers crossed for today but again I rlly have no idea
Sending out peace and positive vibes on this lovely Monday
BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE US OUR DECISIONS TODAY JSDHKHFJLSHFLKSJHHDLKHDKDJHLKSJ
After the letdown on Friday, I’m not nervous about the decision anymore. I’m just kind of numb.
@bree24601 Honestly me too, I think I got most of my anxiousness out last week! Don’t get me wrong I’m still a bit anxious but definitely not as much. I’m just ready to know
Anyone else planning on doing the transfer RLP?
Mood because I was so let down onnfriday that now I’m just like ok they come out when they come out
I propose that if we do get in we get together as time allows to share notes on how we’re getting by.
