UNC Transfer fall 2019

I still don’t have a transfer credit evaluation. I’m wondering if I should call and ask?

I haven’t gotten my financial aid decision yet either, I’m really hoping it’s not just loans especially since I’m OOS.

I never got an email about my transfer credit report and for the past week+ its been empty on connectcarolina, I checked today and my credits are in but the enrollment system has synced with it or something and I still can’t register for courses since it is saying I haven’t done the pre reqs -____________-

Hiii guys! I got into UNC on 4/8. I haven’t received anything in the mail or anything about financial aid. Is this normal or should I call? The other schools I’ve gotten into I normally received a packet a few days later and some FA info pretty quickly

Financial aid info comes through your UNC student email and Connect Carolina.

Any financial aid verification folks heard back yet?

Has anyone been admitted off of the waitlist yet for transfers? Sounds like some of the first year students have got in off of the waitlist already.

I’m a bit confused about the transfer credit report. I’m hoping someone here can help me figure this out.

Some of my courses are listed as ‘Accepted’ with an equivalent UNC course name and number like ECON 100. Other courses are listed as ‘Accepted’ but don’t specify the full equivalent UNC course name and number. They just have name like COMP and no number. I talked to my advisor this morning, and got an impression that the courses without equivalent UNC course may not be placed or counted towards the credits. I was disappointed to see this as half of my courses in transfer report don’t show full course name and number, even though it is ‘Accepted’.

Many courses are listed as N/A, and those I assumed won’t transfer directly and may require re-evaluation.

Yeah. They said they will re-evaluate the credit upon request if we pay the deposit…
Also, anyone get the mail???

They haven’t sent them out yet from what it sounds like

@97TarHeel Courses marked as “Posted” should count toward the credit (3 credit hours, 4 credit hours) minimum you need for graduation.

Courses with a UNC equivalents listed should count toward any gen-ed requirements or prerequisite requirements that the UNC equivalent counts toward.

If a “Posted” course does not have an equivalent listed (COMP___ for example), then it only counts for any specified credit hours, no gen-ed or prereq requirements.

You may want to ask them to reevaluate N/A courses, courses with no listed equivalent, or courses that didn’t receive the equivalent you expected/needed. You do have to pay the deposit to re-evaluate courses, and they require the syllabus for any course you want re-evaluated.

Thank you, @Lelila

Envelopes are getting delivered. Got mine today.

Just got my acceptance package today!

Wow finally!

I decided that I will not be enrolling at UNC! I hope this opens up a spot for someone on the waitlist.

@HSstudentNC How is the food in the dining halls?

In my opinion, mediocre but not bad. Depending on the time and day, there are a fair amount of options. The dining hall on south campus (Chase) is open until Midnight except on Friday and sometimes Saturday. There are vegan and vegetarian options. If you like pizza, it is quite good at Chase compared to Lenoir dining hall. If you plan to live on campus, I personally wouldn’t recommend getting the unlimited meal plan unless you plan to eat at the dining hall 2+ times a day on average. In Lenoir, there are various different smaller restaurants such as Chick-fil-A, Cholanad, Mediterranean Deli etc. With a meal plan you get “plus swipes” (usually 25 or 35). These allow you to get combo meals at these restaurants on campus. @Leilala

When do classes open up in Sakai? I’m starting two classes on the 15th and don’t even know what materials to get.

On Connect Carolina, there should be a link under academics called “Order My Textbooks” and they should be listed there. Classes are “supposed” to be on Sakai by FDOC (very late, I know). I had to wait until FDOC for 3 classes in 2018-2019. Usually the order my textbooks link is accurate and is based on the professors choice, but I would wait until FDOC unless the Sakai site is posted before then. @Mcunn226
