Wanted to start a thread for applicants to UNCW class of 2028. I know decisions aren’t scheduled for another 10 days but we were curious to know if anyone has heard anything about Honors College yet. Would love to hear who is applying and from where!

Thank you! Daughter is waiting anxiously! Applied from Virginia. Last year EA decisions came out on Thursday January 12, so hopefully tomorrow?

I applied to the Psychology program. I’m from upstate New York. I hope decisions are out tomorrow; I thought it would still be a couple more weeks!
Hi! We haven’t heard anything from UNC-W or their Honors College yet. “On or around Jan. 20” is the EA notice target. Sending good vibes to all!
Here’s what we’ve found on their Honors College website:
For early action applicants: Honors College decisions will be rendered by February 1.
For regular decision applicants: Honors College decisions will be rendered by April 1.
You will receive an email in your UNCW inbox about your Honors admissions decision and you can choose to receive a letter in the mail (later). Checking your UNCW email is the most reliable way to keep track of your UNCW Honors admissions decision.
Scholarship offers will not be made in the same letter as the Honors acceptance letter. Please continue to monitor your UNCW email inbox to learn about your financial aid package.
I expect they’ll release on the 19th, going with the Friday closest to said date, but maybe the 12th?
Child applied from NC. She has several friends who graduated last year who go and love it. It’s a backup for her, but it’s a good school.

Do you think decisions might come out this week with honors college next week? Or were they the same day last year?
No idea on that. Just thinking they’ll likely publish before UNC and NC State come out.

Seems like something is going on with their portal page. Today might be the the day.
I just checked mine and it’s changed from yesterday! Hopefully admissions are coming tonight!
In what way has it changed?
It used to have the application fee listed, the date my transcript was received and something about the application- maybe the date or EA or the major, I can’t remember lol- also all of the spots to upload requested information is missing. It’s all gone now and just has the information that has always been at the top about this being the status page…

We are OOS, so likely getting getting a deferral tonight even with good stats. But good luck to all if today is the day. I suspect there are a few lurkers…
I’m OOS as well…do they usually defer OOS initially??

Yay! Portal updated early! Wonder if the honors college results timeline will move up?
This is what I heard because they can only accept 20% OOS by law. My son is not home yet so I will wait…has anyone heard a decision yet?

In-State here. My daughter got a yes. OOS is super tough. The UNC system has a hard cap limit on OOS admissions for all of the UNC schools. Fingers crossed for your son. <3 Our daughter got an ED deferral from Duke so this yes is welcome news.

Daughter, OOS, just got in!! It’s her back up choice as it will be more expensive, but a REALLY GOOD option. She is excited to have that option.

In state. Son is in! He is ranked #1 in his class. 31 ACT. Hoping for Honors college.
Husband and I both alums. Daughter is there now as a sophomore. Great school! Congrats to everyone getting in and good luck to everyone still waiting!
