Can I ask where you are in the alphabet? My daughter is at the end and has not yet received an artist (student) email, but others we know have.
Nothing yet. I don’t know who is more anxious, her or me. Lol

Is interviewing new this year? My D23 applied and was accepted for film last year but she was never asked to interview.

Honestly, I’ve wondered about the interviews too. I’ve seen some info online that every applicant they’re considering gets interviewed. But, I’ve also read a comment about interviews for film school being suspended for the time being (that post was from 2020 so I chalked it up to the pandemic?) I wish I knew if interviews were required for everyone

Yes, apparently they started interviews back up this year. We didn’t know there had been a break but the student guides updated us when we were there.
For film we were told approx 400 applicants, 200 interviews, 100 acceptances. So yes, to be accepted, you would be interviewed.
My daughter just got her acceptance for fall 2024!! We are so excited! Wishing everyone else lots of luck!

She did. I believe her app/portfolio submission was Nov 1, notified about interviews and scheduled them around second week of December. We know that rejections also went out that week as one good friend sadly was not accepted. Interview was 1/27, almost 2 weeks ago. They had told us it would be about 2-3 weeks for acceptances to start, so they were pretty on top of it this year.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! My daughter applied for the January 17th deadline, so fingers (and toes) crossed, she’ll hear something soon about an interview.

Website does say app status will update mid February so it wouldn’t surprise me if you heard next Thursday or Friday. Fingers crossed!! Good luck!!
My son also got accepted today - so excited for him, his number 1 choice. He also applied by November 1 (first deadline) and was interviewed on January 27th. This process is the most intense college application of any I’ve seen (I have an older son in college as well). I’m assuming the reason is because it’s such a small school, with only few spots to offer, so they design it so only applicants who REALLY, REALLy want to attend will apply. The college application process is not for the faint of heart, can be stressful. Wishing you much luck!! I’m going to make a cocktail!
