Undergraduate Admissions

Which college at UVA has the highest acceptance rate for undergraduates? Thanks.

i think the E-school (engineering) does, I know that some E-school kids get laughed at :frowning:

I’m not in E-school by the way

The E-schools acceptance rate may be lower but their SAT average is 1350+

Correction, uvajoe: the e-school rate is higher (i think that’s what you meant to say.) This link should be of interest to you: http://www.web.virginia.edu/iaas/data_catalog/institutional/data_digest/adm_first.htm</a></p>

yea…you’re right higher*

where’s ur stats on SAT, uvajoe?

From www.seas.virginia.edu: class of 2008 average SAT- 1368.
The first link shows from the different undergraduate colleges, hope this helps.

mmm, they are pretty good students. why the hell do they get laughed at? weird…

the only reason i can think of is…maybe UVA’s engineering is not ranked really really high? i dont know

Untilted are you an incoming uva undergrad?

Thank you for all of your replies. One more question. Do you think it would be easier to gain acceptance into UVA’s college of nursing if you are a guy? SAT’s 1300 + range.

Do you want to major in nursing, or are you just looking for a backdoor?

As a backdoor mostly with the possibility of developed interest. Any ideas?

Charlie what are your stats??

Havent taken the SAT’s yet. PSAT 2100 and 3.8 unweighted GPA. Also instate.

You should apply to the college you wish to graduate from, except Mcintire lol. Based on what you told me you will be highly competitive. You’re also instate, which gives you an advantage. I was accepted out of state with a 1370, and my gpa was similar to yours.

Thanks for your advice. Its really helpful. Just as a safety net would I basically be a shoe in at the school of nursing or would it still be competitive?

Nursing isn’t exactly a backdoor…its acceptance rate is the lowest among the four one applies to as a prospective first year. If anything, I’d recommend applying to the e-school.
http://www.web.virginia.edu/iaas/da...t/adm_first.htm</a></p>

But if he hasn’t done engineering type things (like taking AP Physics & Calc, being in science olympiad, on math team) applying to the e-school doesn’t make sense. I’d think the adcom would be wise to that. Same with nursing…have you done volunteer work in a hospital or taken AP Bio? You should apply to the school you are really interested in, but avoid applying to a really popular major.

The entire idea is disgusting and immoral. Why take a spot from someone with a true interest merely to satisfy yourself?
