Hey everybody.
I’m from Guatemala. I’m a jazz guitarist and I’m willing to study in the US but i’m undecided in which program to apply. Berklee is totally out of my economic range and I’ve thought about The New School but I’ve seen some bad reviews, also NYU is an option but eitherways I would like to know what you people say.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad English.

I don’t think you’ll find that the New School or NYU are any cheaper than Berklee or that NYC is a cheaper place to live than Boston. You might want to check out this thread for some lower cost alternatives.

Definitely look into IU Jacobs. Great music school that’s less expensive than private conservatories, and the jazz guitar professor, Corey Christiansen, is excellent.
