<p>Is it me or have colleges been EXTREMELY HARSH this year?
I am a straight A student with a 4.4 GPA, have hundreds of hours of community service, was on the student government and part of just about everything my school has to offer.
BUT, i was waitlisted at UCLA and flat out declined from USC. is that normal?? is that fair? so my SAT scores werent amazing - i got about an 1850 - yet these schools arent supposed to be exclusively for 2400-ers. i mean, isnt that what harvard is for??
and after four years of working my butt off to get into a top university, im going to go to a state college.
if i were the only one this happened to, then fine, tough luck, but thee are so many other people, just on this site, who’ve had the same problem as i did.
i say we take a stand!!!</p>

<p>Although I do think colleges have been extremely harsh this year.</p>
