Sounds like both the OP and their parents might be strongly influenced by rankings and wouldn’t necessarily consider a transfer to a school that has less (ranking-induced) cachet than UNC (which includes pretty much everywhere they already got in aside from maybe UW/UCSD if West Coast is ultimate destination…and I doubt they’d get to do CS at UW.)
I’m noting a couple of things with curiosity:
a) the switch from 100% pre-med focused to business/CS seems pretty abrupt.
b) crying every day could indicate some underlying mental health issue that you might want to address before making any drastic changes. Let’s say, for the sake of simplicity, that your current grades are not going to get you into a stronger brand than UNC – at best you might manage a lateral transition. And it sounds like you’re still feeling wounded from all the rejection you experienced last spring.
Have you gone to a therapist and/or been evaluated for depression?
(I do think that a transfer might still at some point be a good idea but first I think addressing any underlying issues would be prudent. Wherever you go, there you are. Feeling fragile/sad/uncertain/etc. is probably not a great mentality for transferring in somewhere new.)
