@thedragonwriter, your friend at UCL can give you a lot of info. Your other thread talks about teaching English (in the UK…you do know that English people don’t think much of US English, yes?!).
The shortest answer to your question is: GPA is not important for the vast majority of UK universities, standardized testing is. Typically, applicants need 3 standardized tests (SAT/ACT + APs/SAT subject tests) in subjects related to the subject that they are applying to study. So, if you stay with English, Lit & Lang APs & SAT II, and maybe a history (b/c it’s a reading/essay based exam).
Languages are a good option, too.
