University of Alabama Class of 2030 Official Thread

If you sending scores, make sure to send them from SAT board. We got in OOS with 1240 and 3.T UW. Very fast after scores sent. May want to retake as could get merit money at 1200.

My daughter still has nothing from Alabama since submitting common app a couple weeks ago. But today she got the invite to apply for Blount Scholars with ā€œcongrats on your acceptance to Alabamaā€. But still nothing from admissions or a portal or anything. Not super worried or anxious about it is just odd. I figure admissions will catch up soon or she will reach out.

Do you have a regional or school rep? Ours has been super responsive. Our sat scores got lost and she got everything straightened out, booked us tours, etc

I would email your rep

For those that have gotten accepted OOS, did you receive scholarship money yet? And if so, how much? Stats?

Not yet. It should come in regular mail a couple weeks after acceptance. It will be the account in the table for GPA and test scores. Anything more will come later.

Daughter was accepted on 10/16! All materials submitted by 10/11 so about a 5 day turnaround! She is planning on CSD major.

Any merit money?

Daughter accepted OOS. About a 3 day turnaround. 1580 SAT, 3.98 gpa, legacy, NMSF. We were expecting acceptance and it still feels great. Last year, D26 was TO and found out after about two weeks.

We did get an email saying automatic scholarships will come in February.

My niece got into Bama yesterday. I believe she submitted on 10/31 and was accepted 11 days later (less if you ignore the 4 weekend days.) Somewhere around a 3.7GPA and 29 ACT from Minnesota. In any case, Bama is efficient with their reviews!

Did the scholarship come though? Seems like those are hitting now. Oos automatic ones

Not that we’ve seen. I haven’t heard of any yet.

They are hitting. Perhaps a couple weeks after acceptance.

Good to hear. Nothing here and it’s been quite a while since he was accepted. I’m sure it’ll come eventually. I haven’t seen anyone mention it on the parents FB group either, but I may miss that.

I haven’t been following this closely but if you’re asking about the general merit scholarships, my twins received those via email on October 27th. It matched up with exactly what was listed on their web site for OOS merit money … Not sure if that’s at all helpful though.

He got an email that day but it just said that automatic scholarships would be released in February.

Received invite this morning to Capstone Scholars Day on Jan 17. Hoping to get my wife to attend with son (she’s dubious about Alabama, though I doubt Texas A&M is her speed either).

Seems my daughter has abandoned her Alabama application and moved on to choices she prefers. She never finished the honors or scholarship applications she planned on but she did get the Capstone invite today so I guess that must be based just on stats.

Same with my kid. She’s a nmsf so she applied as her main safety. We are in MA and Alabama isn’t a great fit for her but my husband went there and loved it so we do have ties. She’s kind of also abandoned the extra apps and I was wondering what would happen. She also has 4.0 and 1580 sat so I’m assuming it was stats based then.

Can you get into honors college without applying? My kid also isn’t going to get the app done by the 8th-but got the capstone invite.
