Congrats! My son is a Gamecock. 
It came from the mouth of the President of the university on a visit. Our admissions officer also stated the same our child school had at least 40 people apply four have been accepted.

Does anyone know when the invitations go out for the UA Randall Research Scholars interview weekend? UGA just sent out invitations for the foundation fellowship interview which will be at the end of February.

The weekend is a Monday/Tuesday? That would be so much better than an actual weekend!
It’s a Sunday- Monday. It starts midafternoon on Sunday, and it can wrap up as early as noon on Monday. My daughter wanted to sit in on a class so she wasn’t done until around 4:00 on Monday. It was a fabulous experience for her, and it cemented Alabama as her top choice!

Totally misread the calendar, lol. The week starts on Sunday, not Monday.
We are going next weekend for Capstone Scholars day. I’m hoping for an itinerary for that soon and maybe we can add something else. Not sure we have time for much. I hope she likes it. Having her own room is high on her list, so this would be good.

I know there is a mid January deadline, but has anyone who has applied to Blount heard anything from them yet? My oldest is in Blount and likes it, but that was in 2021 and… things weren’t normal. So not sure if Blount is rolling or if they wait until they have all submissions or what.
Also keeping fingers crossed for Randall.
My understanding is that first round Zoom interviews are scheduled for January 20. With only 8-10 students participating in each interview, I assume there are multiple Zoom sessions? HTH!
My daughter also has a Blount interview on the 20th, which includes a participating in a class-like discussion as well.
Is there more after that? I don’t have a good insight into what the process is.

According to the BSP Interview Instructions they received and the info we got from Whiting (the Director) when my daughter met with him back in the fall, it sounds like they make a decision after that Zoom interview.
I have that too. I was just thrown off by “first round”?
Is there a second round or is that just ths first interview date?
I’m assuming it’s just the first interview date.

And how did students hear that they were invited to Blount interviews? Email through Bama account or personal or other? We’re still waiting/ hoping for an invite. Thanks all!
I just checked and D applied on October 9 and received the email invitation to interview on October 16.

Who else is heading to Bama this weekend for Capstone Scholars Day?
This will be Ds first visit to Bama (and honestly, her first official college visit ever).
We are staying at Hotel Capstone, and may walk over to the student center in the morning. It’ll be chilly, but I am told by the internet it is a 17 minute walk and I want her to get a sense of how large the campus is.
LOL, bundle up. It’ll be the seven days of Alabama Winter, from what I’ve been told. Cold enough to snow!
Suggest a bike, if she goes there. You can rent from the rec center by semester (but they are snapped up fast, before classes start).
