Early notification of the Achievement scholarships is listed as an “early February” announcement. Anyone have any insight into how that works? US Mail? MyBama? Is it down to the beginning of March if we haven’t heard anything yet? The automatic merit offer came in US Mail without an accompanying email - which I thought was odd.
Alabama resident here. You should confirm with the school, but my understanding is that you can put down your non-refundable Freshman Enrollment Deposit and your housing deposit without being committed to attend. That’s what my daughter did, at the advice of her high school’s college counselor.
Although the deadline to do so and get room selection privileges (Feb. 1) has now passed.
Anyone hear yet on round 2 for scholarships? Early Feb was date of release. Waiting patiently !
My daughter just received an email this afternoon that her scholarship application has been rolled to the final round.
Same here. Just got email saying rolled to third round.
We did get email and she got a good sized scholarship. She was TO and they had her at a 3.81. She was not eligible for merit.
was the info in the portal too? or just email?
Would you be willing to share the approximate scholarship amount? We were rolled to the third round and wondering what we might generally and possibly expect with similar stats? Thanks.
Yesss $15k per year, four years. She got into the honors college, and applied for achieve scholars. She also took two classes in the UAEC program so very committed to the university. She transferred over her college credits that she could from junior year. And we committed to housing, and orientation before receiving this.
Just in email -I looked in portal and nothing in there. The email said she is eligible for more in march, so assuming that’s why.
Congrats!
Thank you for sharing this and congratulations!
yeah, I was very confused by that email. DS already received a merit award right after he was accepted. Is this “scholarship application” something different?
My child got his acceptance on Tuesday. It seems a lot of deadlines were already missed (priority housing, admitted tide days, etc). He’s trying to decide between UA and UK (He really enjoyed UK admitted students day) and would like to experience the Alabama campus again. Does anyone know when the Admitted Tide days are or have a contact number for them that I can talk to someone and try to get on a waitlist?
We are going March 23 to admitted tide day.
Congrats!
The remaining dates are March 23, March 25, and April 1. All show as full. Maybe contact admissions and see what other options there are.
We were not able to find any available admitted Tide Days. However, contact the department you would like to visit and set-up a private tour. Much better imo since there is not so many people on campus and you can tailor the visit as you like. Hotel rooms seem to be less expensive going in the “off” time as well.
I should have said that I found them in an email from December. I couldn’t find it by searching.
Has anyone called or has any idea when they are releasing scholarship info in March???
Blount decisions are out!
D got in, so I would put the odds at 95% for Bama at this point!
