University of Arizona Class of 2029 Official Thread

Forum to share stats, results, merit and major for class if 2029 Rolling Admission.

My daughter has been accepted for engineering. We are really excited and grateful. However, we have no info on merit, other than that she was invited to apply for the Presidential Scholarship. We know things might be different this year given all their financial issues, but we’re really curious as to when we
might hear about merit awards.

Don’t want to mislead you. But in previous years, I remember the admission and merit being in the same letter.

Yes we are OOS and received the merit in the acceptance letter. The merit is pretty straightforward based on gpa. There is a grid on the website. They do recalc gpa based on their guidelines.

My OOS son’s merit award was listed in his acceptance letter.

OK, thanks. This is so weird. I did not know if we did not hear anything because of the financial issues this year.

She has a 4.24W and 3.94UW so her stats are good. Plus she was invited to apply for the Presidential Scholarship.

Something seems strange.

It is based on a grid and not an application as far as I know. They have their own gpa calculation and it is probably better to talk to them and ask.

My oos applicant did not receive notice of merit $$ until
Over a month maybe close to two months after getting admitted. He was offered $10k per year. Forget the name of the scholarship.

My daughter heard about merit today. She was offered the Distinction Award. While the amount is not as much as has been offered in year’s past, I’m trying not think about that and am grateful that they have recognized her achievements.

My daughter’s small (but very appreciated) OOS merit offer arrived this week. She was admitted a month ago. We are in the Northeast, so consider it reimbursement for inevitable travel, and I love Tucson, so will be visiting! The more I read, the more I like Eller for my conscientious and curious kid, so UofA is definitely on the A list! And I work at a college-- everywhere is cutting small or unpopular academic programs-- it’s a business decision, just like smaller merit packages. Most don’t make the national news though…

Probably crossed U of A off our list after visiting. The campus is really beautiful, especially the entrance, but it wasn’t quite a home run for us. Best of luck to future Wildcats and Bear Down.

We are oos and our daughter’s acceptance letter came with a scholarship offer. We were pleasantly surprised. I believe it was merit based.
