University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

lol sorry verdet i didnt mean you. I tried to quote someone else but it didnt work.

I’m so nervous now. I had to notify them of a change in my schedule this semester because I dropped one of my classes. And even though it’s not one of my required classes, it’s still an English class and is my major and now that I’m in, I don’t want them to withdraw my acceptance.

I think I’m nervous because the form I ha to fill out was called “provisional problems.” Yikes. And in the confirmation it said that I’d know in 15 days whether my acceptance will be withdrawn or not. Ugh.

from UCLA website

" Academic Changes

You should report any of the following situations:

* If you dropped any courses which were listed on your application or application update form.

 • If you changed any courses which were listed on your application or application update form.
 • If if you received any D or F grades, or if your overall GPA has dropped significantly.
 • If you fail to meet the provisions of your admission contract.

Generally, the sooner you let us know of changes, the more options you will have.

What will happen next
Once you submit your changes we will review them in the context of your overall record, and will let you know whether they affect your admission within 15 working days. In some cases, your offer of admission can be withdrawn."

Is the English class a part of your pre-reqs or was it just an English class you were taking for fun.

Either way, don’t stress… I am an English major and had the same thing three weeks ago.

I had to drop a class because of a personal issue, not a problem. Call them if you are concerned but they will probably make you send the e-mail via the link…

One class is not going to change the view of the entire 2 (or more years) you have put into getting there.

I think they are more concerned with pre-reqs getting dropped, failing IGETC classes, faliling all your classes…

We hit it way before our goal =P

It’s not part of my pre-reqs. I still finish my pre-reqs and IGETC and everything without the class. It was just an English class. Hopefully everything will be fine. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

They do. Admissions is independent of the other campus.

I hope you are right verdet, and I hope that minor changes won’t change admission status, even for borderline applicants.

what about “making sure that each applicant is admitted to a UC”

anyone else read something like it on an official site before?

a berkeley rep told me you’re competitive with a 3.4 for english.

UCLAri - Are you certain?

Because it would appear to me that they would have to share admit/SIR/applicant information for state budgeting purposes alone. I am not advocating they pass around names and say “hey are you admitting Lostincode?” but logistically it would seem to me that they would have to share some information.

lol I only applied to cal :P

The UC’S do not know our values. For example, I applied to UCLA and CAL. I really want to move out of the Bay Area, and even if I got into CAL, I think I would still pick UCLA.

For many, CAL is their dream school.

I doubt they look at the fact that I am TAP certified and say heck, Smith will be accepted to the other highly ranked UC, let’s reject him from CAL. I also doubt they have a list of individuals who have not yet been accepted to other schools and that they look favorable on those students.

you’re not competitive with a 3.anything for haas. heee heee heee

Verdet - That makes sense. I have heard that you are not allowed to give the $100 dollar deposit to more than one school. To me, this indicates that there is some kind of database that keeps track of which school you have submitted the deposit to, but I doubt that the same database is used to make admission decisions. I am just speculating.

I doubt that by giving my $100 deposit to UCLA that I am withdrawing my app to CAL.

rejected from ucla…
3.73 at time of update, bizecon, igetc certified with like 100+ quarter units total, last pre-req this quarter (calc1b), many extracurriculars including nasa internship, pretty good essays. no tap cause my ccc doesn’t offer it. fuuuuck.

Zemookmook - That is the best way someone has ever expressed that reality.

Wow Bay Really, you have all your pre-reqs, IGETC, and a 3.73! That is messed up… Are you applying to cal?

I wonder if anyone from a 4-year univ has been accepted with a GPA in the low 3.0s.

why does ucla have to make me wait so long still pending.
GPA 3.63
Civil Engr
Pre-reqs done
CC doesn’t offer tap

Is anyone applying to Berk as a different major than all the other schools they applied to? Berk is the only UC that has industrial engineering, so I am in that boat bleh. And judging from my Davis rejection, I know Cal is really going to be looking for pre req completion. :(

Heavy Metal, appeal that trash. In fact, lets just overload them with appeals.

*I’m starting my letter for Cal today.
