My DD submitted her app on 11/5 and has not received an email with a link to the applicant status page yet. Anyone else? Seems strange it is taking this long
I would check in with admissions if she hasnât heard anything by Monday. My S submitted on 11/12 and received an email to set up his portal on 11/14.
My in-state S25 just received his acceptance to Boulder. Unfortunately, he did not get into Aerospace Engineering - they offered him Arts & Science instead so this will be a no. Such a bummer since we are in-state but I guess itâs just crazy competitive especially with the âPrime effectâ.
He had 3.8 GPA, 35 ACT, NM commended, AP Scholar with Distinction and took Calc AB last year (4 on the test). 4 yr varsity athlete and 150+ volunteer hours.
Are they doing rolling decisions this year? Or did he apply through a separate application that is evaluated earlier?
No he applied through common app but every year they do offer admission to a select group of in-state kids, usually high stats, in December. I guess my S25 wasnât high enough though! Ooof this one stings.
Sorry to hear this. Thought early and high stats should be the first choice major. Not sure if they clearly communicate the direct admit criteria. But I do expect a lot of engineering/business applicants to get exploratory studies.
Call them and ask if he can change to exploratory studies through which there is a path to engineering.
Daughter admitted in-state EA to college of arts & sciences today with $4000/yr scholarship offer. No mention of honors program admissions. Does that mean she was not offered honors college or does that come out separately at a later time?
My son and at least two in state friends got accepted today. son got into aerospace engineering with 3.7 uw, 4.3 w, 4-5 AP classes already and 3 more this year. Swim team captain, president of physics club that won awards at national invention competitions each of soph-jr-sr years and more strong ecs.
Friend who has straight As and plays varsity baseball got into mech eng.
in state?
Yes in-state.
I donât know for sure, but my daughter (also in state) just got her admittance, and she got the same scholarship; her letter also had the admittance to the Honors College in it.
My D23 was also notified about honors college with her acceptance.
I think it depends on the which college - Business said in January they would send notifications
My son also received his acceptance into CU Boulder Engineering - Biomedical Engineering - yesterday.
Congratulations!
Thanks so much!
My kiddo got notified Friday that he got accepted into mechanical engineering. Most of friends got notified as well. He goes to high school in Boulder and the counselors told us in September that CU prefers that local kids apply early action.
In-state kiddo was early action deferred: âPlease know your application is still being considered for Leeds and general acceptance to CU Boulder through the Exploratory Studies Programâ with a decision to be made with regular decision applicants. Slim chance to get in? If you donât get into either, will they offer you acceptance to another program or you simply donât get in? Is it better to change to the College of Arts & Sciences to increase chances?
does anyone know when they will send out decisions for out of state?
They say 2/1, but it looks like last year it was in the third week of Jan.
