Hey there Jennifer_Borodin and jellygirl2- are you in or out of state, what school and stats? Thanks!

OOS, Arts and Sciences, 4.0, 4 APs, 3 varsity sports (not good with the stats)

OOS, A&S. 3.95uw (no idea weighted). All
Honors and 7AP. Tons of ECs, leadership, student gov, varsity captain, 4 year varsity. Team MVP. Part time job etc…

My son got the honors college invite as well. Unexpected, well received. He got into UW Madison EA so now has options. Waiting on Utah’s merit aid decisions on Monday.

It is offered in the acceptance letter for A&S.

Does anyone know if Honors invites to Arts and Sciences might still be coming in for EA applicants or if it could come in later? 4.0 UW 4.4 W, 10 AP classes and 32 ACT. Should I still be hopeful? Got the $25K scholarship.

I think the students can apply directly (according to their honors website) with all stats etc. Shouldn’t be too hard. Cu only provides first year of honors dorm. My son was planning to send an email and by then he got the honors invite

Is honors only for A &S or engineering program too?

Engineering Honors is separate and requires an application:

My daughter’s appeared yesterday in the portal. No email. Arts & Sciences.

Still nothing for S25 in regards to honors college. He did get the scholarship notification with his admission. I think for him it might be that his SAT was below range for honors college even though GPA was strong.

For those who got the honors invite, was it mentioned in the physical letter you received in the mail? Also, was anyone offered any merit aid after the initial decision arrived?

Not sure we got the physical letter yet. There has been no aid offered yet. I did find it strange that my son was offered honors but not aid initially or otherwise. At the end of the day it’s still a nice thing, I’m just curious how the two are related or not in terms of decisions.

We got aid but not honors. Recently got the physical letter and there was no mention of either in the letter.

My daughter‘s honors letter was posted in the portal, but not sent to the house, and no email notifying her of an update. No merit has been offered or mentioned. I agree that it seems weird that some kids with merit scholarship awards have yet to receive honors invites. I’m guessing those will come shortly.

We got some merit aid but no honors invite.

We’re also waiting to hear for music, but I think it will be with the Regular Decision group. I found this on their website:

"Direct applicants to the College of Music will not receive an early action
decision regardless of when they submit their application, as they must
audition before receiving a decision. These applicants can expect a
decision by April 1. "

My son auditioned on Jan 25 and there were more auditions this past weekend - they have to wait for all of those to finish, and then I’m guessing we’ll hear the same time the regular decision kids hear (though I sure wish it could be earlier since the application was submitted before the EA deadline!)
