Any Idea when admissions descions will be posted onto portal?

I saw that. Accepted numbers will plummet.

We are all speculating this Saturday. I am guessing sooner than later given the timing of this article.

Anyone have a link to the article with the 57,000 number?

That’s stunning. Some of the increase has got to relate to the basketball National Championships.

I have a feeling tons of in-state kids are going to get branched.

Does anyone else have a prior applicant as well? My oldest applied two years ago and right before (I cannot recall how much prior but a few days, maybe a week)- there was a shift in the portal and some applicants noticed a campus assigned under housing. There was a lot of speculation about this being totally random and meaning nothing. For my applicant it stated Hartford and when decision day came- he was branched to- Hartford. It ended up being accurate for many. I wonder if we will end up seeing something similar. Also for those asking about merit- UConn is not known for giving much merit to any applicants- OOS and IS. Yes, they give some- but it is more in line with a flagship like Penn State where merit is not to be expected. My oldest received merit at 10 schools- $0 at UConn as an in state applicant. He attends elsewhere. My current senior is likely choosing elsewhere also where he received top merit- but still curious what the result of his UConn app will be.

Last year our DD23 received $23K. She had a 3.96 unweighted, ranked 13/390 and went test optional. She had strong, but not stellar ECs. Our DD24 is waiting to hear from UCONN. She has higher stats - 4.0 unweighted, ranked 1/410, and submitted 1480 SATs. We are hoping for the same merit amount, but her sister received $10K from Pitt last year, and she received $0. So…who even knows.

what day are we expecting decisions?

My bet is Saturday! Waiting for a post on Insta sometime between now and Friday saying something to the effect of “it is almost here #Uconn2028

Yes, I saw on another page that most likely (based on historical release dates from prior years) kids should most likely hear this Saturday.

S24 is eagerly awaiting the UConn decision hopefully this Saturday. We are OOS and hoping for some merit aid, but he also applied to a major that would qualify for a tuition reduction via the New England Tuition Break program. Question: Is it generally and either/or situation or is it possible to receive merit aid in addition to the New England Tuition Break?

I suspect the decisions will be coming on 3/1 since that’s the target date and it falls on a Friday. Last year they released on Saturday 2/25, but 3/1 was on a Wednesday. Seems they try to release decisions at the end of the week when possible (Thurs/Fri/Sat), especially when 3/1 falls on one of those days.

Does anyone know how competitive it is to be accepted into the Landscape Architecture program? UCONN is the last school my OOS DS24 is waiting to hear back from. Was accepted at Penn State (BArch), UMASS Amherst (Landscape In State), Wentworth (Architecture) and Roger Williams (Construction Management.

4.0 GPA, Test Optional

UConn at least from what I have heard has pretty decent merit awards. Much better than most big state schools like VT, PSU, and OSU. UMass was very aggressive on merit at least from our experience so I don’t know if it will be that strong.

I am less optimistic of any decisions coming out this weekend since they did not drop a teaser on social. Anyone have any bets. The wait is brutal.

I have to agree with the above poster as next Friday seems more likely with the 1st falling on a Friday…though in at least the last few years it has been on the Saturday before! We are waiting on two more schools and yes, the wait is brutal!

I will be checking for status tomorrow at 12 noon pst. The past two years, the results posted on the last Saturday before March 1. Hoping we dont have to wait another week!

For what it’s worth…they were released on Saturday the past 4 years. The last time March 1 fell on a Friday (2019), they were released on Friday, March 1.
