Doesn’t seem like it’s coming out today…
Generally came out at Noon ET in past years
And also they had a social post saying it was upcoming… and we haven’t had that this year
3 pm EST in past few years so holding out hope.
FWIW… this event is posted on the School Counselor page of the UConn admissions site. While possible to get a decision today, I suspect it’s Friday given the timing of this info session.
I am a public school college counselor (and the mother of an applicant), I signed up for this webinar.
It’s 12:03pm pst and no update. Looks like Mar 1 it is
Another week……this is brutal. Especially with no early action option.
I think it’s really a mistake on their part. My daughter has pretty much lost interest and I’d imagine she’s not the only one. It behooves a school to announce as early as they reasonably can and with no EA it’s hard to imagine this is the best they can do. It doesn’t build excitement…it’s the opposite.
D24 just withdrew her (in state) application today on the off chance it opens up a spot for someone else. Curiosity is not worth it. Good luck everyone!
Especially since you know that 75% of their applicants probably submitted by 11/1/23. We threw UConn into the mix because it didn’t have a supplement so easy to send with all the rest.
With all of the EA options people have gotten ridiculously impatient. I understand waiting is not easy and people are nervous/excited but March 1st isn’t late by any means. Decisions aren’t due back to schools until May 1. We are waiting for other RDs that are the end of March and early April.
: nods from California
I get it isn’t everyone’s experience, but knowing UC schools were late March helped set different expectations in our household. Just grateful S24 has good options in hand already otherwise the wait would be worse.
Distance matters when it comes to decision dates IMO. We are glad to have heard back from some good schools that are far away - flights and hotels are now booked, and we are eagerly awaiting the trips. We are also planners (who on this board isn’t?!) We can drive to UCONN so the lateness of the decision doesn’t cause us parents the same level of anxiety. I do agree though that earlier notification is overall better and helps the student to get in the mindset of where they will be living next year.
I also think this wait is long for folks who included applications to some southern schools with dates of Oct. 15th!! 5 months is a long time. I realize UCONN was 1/15 RD, but we submitted with our other applications in the Fall. So waiting is dreadful, but I am good with 3/1. If we had to wait end of March, I am not sure we could. Best of Luck!
Best of luck to you all as well!
It’s a looong process! My son submitted his first apps in September and got his first acceptance from a school with rolling admissions a couple of weeks later. Along the way he’s been deferred, waitlisted, accepted and waits for 3 decision dates out of the 8 schools he applied to.
I guess we will all know on Friday!
Can anyone get into https://huskyct.uconn.edu/
I can, does it mean anything?
You’re right, it is a long process! Hang in there and keep your head up. It’s great that your son already has an acceptance and is still in the running at other schools. Good luck with the remaining decisions
I don’t know that it is necessarily positive but I know it’s not a bad thing. I was looking at previous threads and curious.
I agree! This happened with another school…some could get in, others could not. We could, and it turned out he was accepted. We shall see.
