Has anyone who applied before 12/1 not heard back yet? I’m OOS and applying to the School of Engineering (BME)
Should I contact or just wait? twin sister got in already (on march 1st)
I would reach out to the undergrad admission rep for your state. I reached out yesterday (unrelated topic) and they responded same day. Doesn’t hurt to check.
Just got an email about this scholarship opportunity if someone knows a good candidate.

My daughter hasn’t heard back. Emailed them Monday and still no response. Her app was in on 11/1.
Thank you for posting this!
yes. rejected. could not get into housing and cas site said applicant only.
Anyone know what the 2028 Acceptance rate was?
could you get into that admin site with all the icons?
They didn’t share the acceptance rate in the counselor webinar but last year they accepted 22,293/40,894 for a 54.5% acceptance rate. This year they had 56,000 apps (54,000 for Storrs) so if you assume they accepted the same number it would be a 40% acceptance rate. But that’s a rough estimate.
Son accepted oos to Storrs, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Leadership Scholarship of 23k per year.
any response yet? is she applying to the college of engineering?
Nothing. It’s not a good look for the school. Every year they release all decisions on 3/1. It’s ok if that changed this year but there’s been NO communication from them.
Have you called her Admissions Counselor? See if you can get an adult on the phone.
Yes, the person I spoke with rude. Told me I needed to be patient. Unreal.
What other schools did they reference in the appeal?
Thanks!
It hard, but I feel like no news is good news right now. They are rolling out decisions and that could mean they are waiting form some kids to respond no and make more room, it could mean they just aren’t done with their process yet, or any number of things. You definitely don’t want to give them any reason to get moved off the still deciding pile to the ‘no way’ pile. I know its hard and at times doesn’t make sense, but this is an important process for the applicants to learn a few lessons as well as get into college.
Same for my Daughter. It looks like you can apply later to the program. My daughter said her friends sister started out with ACES but was then accepted to desired major. I’m not sure what major that was. I would love to hear if anyone has insight on the difficulty of getting into he major later.
I was reading up that you can apply into the exercise major, but that spaces are limited. Just seems like too much of a risk unfortunately.
UDell, Maryland, some of the other larger state schools that offered OOS merit. She said they sent in all offers. Unfortunately by the time the appeal came back their son was already set on another school.
Does anyone know if it is possible to appeal merit awards at UConn? My D got $12 K a year but her friends got $18 K and $23 K a year and had lower GPAs and less rigor and leadership experience. We are in Maryland.
