University of Delaware Class of 2022

Has anyone that was asked for mid year greads heard back today? They said we would find out today!!

It seems as if they aren’t waiting until Friday to update portals. My son was expecting a decision for the World Scholars program on Friday but I just checked his portal and it was updated.

Just checked the portal and still showing major. Getting more frustrated by the day!! Anyone else having better luck?

Did anyone get this:

Thank you for your interest in the University of Delaware.

We know you were expecting an update on your application status. The Admissions Committee is in the process of finalizing your decision and we hope to provide a response in early April.

Again, thank you for your patience during the application process.

If you have any additional questions, please email admissions@udel.edu.

Sincerely,
Douglas Zander, Ed.D.
Executive Director of Admissi

Unreal!!!

Yes i got that also

My son received an email stating the admissions committee is in the process of finalizing the decision and they hope to provide a response by early April. It is frustrating but I suppose it’s better than a rejection since UD is his top choice. As a family we wanted to make a decision by the end of March.

My son got the same email

Chestnut and yankee–been in and out of education and coaching teenagers for past 25 years, worked with countless kids and currently a head boys high school basketball coach. See it all the time. Once the nostalgia of where you are at fades its all the same 9for the most part) and what you do with it is all that matters. If you are premed type of kid than I get it yearn for the Harvard degree. But with the Look at me society we live in (facebook, insta, snap chat etc) it becomes more about looking for approval than what the real issue is to begin with–become a productive member of a higher learning institution and trying to better yourself and your education! Just my simple take.

UD goes on spring break March 23- April 2nd.

I also was told my daughters application would be delayed today. If she has not received an admissions decision yet. Could she still get in or does she go straight to the waitlist.

That is so bogus!

Chestnut…we are out of state LOL. I just think that they are trying to balance best of the best while not being staffed properly enough to handle the application load–this can’t be (one would think) there first rodeo. I stand by my early convictions. For the purpose of reference only my daughter has been accepted to all of these schools: Rutgers, Rowan, Pace, Hofstra,Towson,Rider, Florida State, Penn State (but 2 plus 2 branch campus plan) and wait listed at Marist. I don’t get the hype.

My friend and I both received the update today about our decision being released in early April. Both of us nursing majors, very frustrating.

I received the same e-mail. Early April. :frowning:

My thoughts…only wait list and acceptances. Was told(phone staff) if going to be rejected - would of happen already. Anybody thinking the same.

My son was told he’d have a decision by March 15th. No decision and no email stating the decision will be delayed until April. He applied the middle of October. He’s hoping to major in mechanical engineering. He has been accepted into other engineering programs but Udel is his top pick. I’m getting frustrated at the wait. Udel either wants him or not. If not, put him out of his misery and let him know!

@polemonk It might come down tonight for you. I called admissions this morning to get a timeline of when the decisions would come out (before I got the e-mail). They said after 8 pm tonight.

@hockeybuff17 I agree with you. Either waitlist or acceptance.

Thank you! We’re keeping our fingers crossed!

I’m sorry. This is not an Ivy League school. Even if it was, this whole process has been a joke. I understand the fact that they had many more applicants than last year, but for goodness sake, get it together. My son applied in early November. Rolling admissions. Laughable. He applied to business school. Got email requesting midterm grades which were immediately sent. Then notification that March 15 he would hear. In the meantime, he has been accepted to many very good schools with great scholarship money. I’m turned off, but trying to keep it together until he hears one way or the other. If he hears nothing by tonight, we officially are moving on. Housing deposits need to be made, not to mention he deserves to know one way or the other!
