Here is a post about it. You share your acceptance/offer and you can see others that have been self-reported at that school, along with history from past years at that school. Share & Compare Your College Offers to Other Students at the Same Schools

Hi, can I ask your son’s stats (GPA/SAT)? My son also applied biz to Delaware. So far has acceptance to Pitt and Ithaca with 30k for Ithaca.

I noticed that the financial aid paragraph on the portal changed. shortly after january 1st wording was removed.

Are acceptances still only coming on Friday’s at 5pm or are they random now?

From their webpage:
The University of Delaware notifies students of merit scholarships starting at the end of December, and those admitted after that date should expect to hear approximately two to three weeks after their admission decision is released. Students admitted to UD who have completed the FAFSA will receive financial-aid eligibility information starting in late January/early February. Once finalized, merit scholarship letters and offer notices are mailed to students and are available on their My Blue Hen Home student portal as well.

We are two weeks from admittance so we are anxiously waiting.

We are five weeks
. They changed the text that said “by the start of the year” so basically they are behind, likely overwhelmed

I guess this was the case in past cycles, but with filing of FAFSA getting delayed and schools not receiving completed FAFSA applications before end of January even in best case scenario, i can see the financial aid decisions from UD and other schools delayed even further.

Yes, for aid. But we are still waiting on merit. Our D was accepted 11/3 and still no word on merit, which shouldn’t rely on Fafsa. Don’t want to book an admitted students day without knowing that so we are in a holding pattern. Holding a hotel just in case

Also accepted on 11/3 and still waiting for word on merit. Hoping something comes out this Friday.

Based on above, it looks like the merit offers are now linked to FAFSA filing? But this contradicts their first statement on their webpage.

I am going to go back under the rock now :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s equally possible they just have a ton of apps this year and are behind like every other school

Sounds right.

FWIW in our portal under Financial Aid Status it now states “
the University of Delaware’s Student Financial Services (SFS) has not yet begun processing merit scholarship awards. Once finalized, scholarship award notices are mailed to students and will be available on their My Blue Hen Home portal” which does differ from the previously provided guidance.

@BoroDad - yes
a message indicating that his business undecided major was very competitive and they want to look at midyear grades to make a decision. He will hear by “April”

I wonder how many accepted students will decide not to enroll based on the outcome of the FAFSA.

FAFSA isn’t for merit, just financial aid, correct?

Yes. From what I understand a big change in the FAFSA this year will impact those with multiple kids in school. So in the past if FAFSA said you can afford to pay 30k/yr for all your 3 college kids (10k per kid), the new change says you can afford 30k/year per kid (90k for the family.) We are not doing a FAFSA, but this is what I’ve heard from podcasts on the subject a couple months back. I think there’s a thread on the FAFSA on CC.

Whoa!

Yes I see that too. I just wish they would set a clear expectation. It’s easier to wait when you know when you’re waiting for.
