Our portal says honors will be out by Feb, and historically merit was a week or two post acceptance. Some people had today’s date (or Jan 26) randomly pop up on their portal,. So we assumed that was a merit release. I understand they are busier than usual, it’s just been a long wait since acceptance.
ETA just pulled up portal. Didn’t notice until today they changed honors to mid March. That wasn’t there a few days ago.
Honors for EA is for early February (according to link you posted). They previously said end of December and then pushed it back. That is why some people are anxiously waiting for the decisions to be sent out.
Hmmm… I am confused. Perhaps I am missing it. I see a list of merit scholarships, but I do not see what you need to do to qualify for each (like GPA or test scores).
And yes, that HC date changed.
It is a moving target. And I know they are busy, but I also know my student would probably pay the deposit now if we knew about merit and HC. Its an important part of what their college experience will be. Meanwhile, we are trudging through visits and scholarship apps at several lower choice schools to make sure we have options.
Unfortunately there’s no concrete way to know for sure what OOS merit will be for any individual student. Last year, my older son was offered the Trustee Scholarship, but he was super high stats, rigor, etc. Since last year, honors college acceptance mid-50% stats have increased quite a bit, so I would imagine stats for merit levels will also have increased as well.
No merit or honors info. here either. The moving target dates are unfortunate because we also aren’t scheduling admitted student visits without knowing that information.
Apologies, in the past it was a matrix (which seems to be down right now) that you would know exactly the amount based on GPA and/or test scores. Doesn’t seem to be transparent this year.
Looks like 3 dates will be offered Save the Date: Our open house for admitted students, Decision Days, will be held on Saturday, February 24, March 9 and April 13. At Decision Days, you can learn about your major, speak with professors, find out more about housing—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Registration will open by early February. Check your email for updates and registration.
No apologies needed. A few colleges my son applied to have made decision changes (timelines, procedures, etc) even since just last year when my older son was going through the process.
sorry for the reply but I can’t figure out how to add a new post.
Does anyone know when they released the parent’s weekend dates? My daughter hasn’t committed yet, but decided to look, and they are out and all hotels are booked.
Based on people’s experiences, is it safe to assume if we have not heard an EA decision as of yet, it will most likely be a deny / decline? Fortunately, our OOS son has other good options, but just curious. Congratulations to all that have already heard.
