My daughter is OOS. She heard on Friday. I’d say be patient. I suspect they are looking at piles of apps sorted in some order (region, major,…).

Yes. looking at family weekend in Sept. I booked a hotel 15 minutes away in case she commits, which is very likely. Just waiting on UNC results, but its a big reach and she has already fallen in love with Delaware.

I would still give them time. This Friday at 5pm I think more responses will go out. They have until 1/31.

Any experienced parents here that can advise re housing? Is there a benefit of putting in a deposit early? We won’t make final decision until March but this is likely top three. Thanks!
No hurry, they will only be able to choose between traditional (bathroom in hallway) or suite style. Traditional tends to be closer to the action, but not all dorms are equal, newer forms with a/c and elevators vs. old dorms with no a/c of elevators. Suite style are newer, but a bit of a walk. Honors dorms are very nice traditional.

So they arent awarded their choices based on date of deposit? And do they typically honor roommate request? (I ask because I’ve learned some schools don’t)
They do honor roommate requests, but it doesn’t matter when they put down a deposit. They also roommate match, and they did a fantastic job with my daughter (and many others), she’s turning 23 and her freshman roommate (who was a roommate off campus too) is definitely one of her dearest friends. I believe some colleges put zero effort in finding compatible roommates.

Anybody get an envelope from the university in the mail today? We got one from the admissions office but can’t tell what’s inside. My daughter is still at school.
Anybody think merit and honors might come today? Daughter still has no update since Nov 3. I would like to schedule a visit but need more info first…
Fingers crossed! My daughter’s decision date changed to January 26th about 2 weeks ago. Prior to that, it had been showing November 3rd which is when she was notified of her acceptance. So I’m thinking a decision about something is coming later today, but we’ll see.
