If the student hasn’t heard about merit from Pitt yet it is doubtful they are getting any. Most Pitt offers are sent about 2 weeks after acceptance. Two years ago my D got her merit from DE in November so the lateness this year is really hurting their chances of enticing students I think.
Yes, we had Pitt merit in the document center along with the acceptance
My son got the message way back in early January to submit his mid year grades. They were really solid, so all good there. Admissions indicated that business was competitive and he would hear by early April. We imagine indicating business was the reason he got deferred because they said we could change his major at any time.
This weekend, he decided to change to Undergraduate Studies (i.e. undecided).
Does anyone know if he will get a decision sooner as a result of the change or if he will still have to wait until “early April at the latest”?
We are trying to plan for admitted students trips and I’d love for Delaware to be among the options. He has great acceptances already so it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Thank you for any experiences you can share.
Sorry I don’t have any answers. I’ve been following along here and just thought I’d chime in to say that my S24 applied (OOS) in September, for either business or actuarial science, and we haven’t heard anything from Delaware yet. I think he said that his portal says he should receive a decision mid-March.
So am I losing my mind, or did the portal go back to the old wording about scholarships? My son has been checking it every day and just pointed it out to me.
Ours has now been updated to completely contradict themselves
(see what I copied from our portal below). The first section states that full financial awards including need based awards have begun to rollout. The second section regarding that FAFSA states what we’ve been hearing - that rollout won’t occur until merit mid-March and need based mid-April.
Finding it very hard to believe anything that UD communicates on this topic anymore.
XXXX the University of Delaware’s Student Financial Services (SFS) notifies students of scholarship awards approximately two to four business weeks after their admission decision is released. Once finalized, scholarship award notices are mailed to you and will be available on your My Blue Hen Home portal.
Full financial award eligibility information, including eligibility for need-based grants and loans, have begun to roll out and you will be notified once your package is complete.

Important Information About the 2024-25 FAFSA
For students awaiting their financial aid offers: The release of full financial offers for students who intend to begin UD in the fall of 2024 has been delayed. Due to the Department of Education’s changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the delivery of financial information has been delayed to all colleges and universities, therefore delaying the University of Delaware’s ability to release financial aid relying on the FAFSA.
We are eager to get financial information to families as quickly as possible, and based on the latest updates from the Department of Education, our target is to deliver full financial aid packages to families by mid-April. However, we are able to release merit aid earlier. Students will be informed about merit aid in mid-March.
Some of the kids on ZeeMe were reporting their merit but my daughter can’t see anything yet. She wasn’t accepted until January so maybe it’s by admission date?
*Edited. My son just checked again, and he received an offer. So apparently they have still been rolling out this evening.
Good luck to everyone!!!
Mine was accepted in November, and nothing here. I really hope he gets something. I remember reading on some forum about kids with his stats getting decent merit in the last couple of years. I’m hoping his stats are still enough given this new pool of candidates.
My son just got merit money. 15k/year. For context - 3.96uw/4.6w 1470 sat
Ours came five minutes ago. 12k/yr. 3.85/4.1 no test 8 AP 3H 1DE

Both. Saw email first.
D24 received merit offer. Email first and then saw in portal. $8,500 per year. 4.35W gpa TO OOS
Checked again- 48k total- better than I was expecting! Makes us more excited for our visit tomorrow! 4.2 weighted/OOS/no scores
We got $48k as well. Good news!

4.3 W / 1270 SAT
all honors / AP with a full DE AS degree
OOS Provost - $22,400 total - $5,600 per year.
that barely covers the COE differential ![]()
it really seems like submitting scores was a poor idea.
Its been a long wait - we are out (his close second choice is half the cost and amazing). I sincerely hope each of your students got the news they have been waiting for and enjoy their time at UD.
OOS daughter also got 48K, 12,000 a year. 4.0 weighted GPA test optional
President’s Scholarship, $12,000 per year. 4.15 weighted, test optional. Cost is still steep for oos, but in consideration.
Can people say OOS vs. in-state when reporting amounts? Thank you!
OOS. Presidential Scholarship (12K per year). 4.2 weighted GPA, SAT 1320.
