University of Delaware Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

I’m so confused. My OOS daughter got the Trustee scholarship which is supposedly the highest according to the website it is between $12k-$15k per year but her award is only $7k per year. Anyone else have something like that happen?

$7000 is in state amount.

Maybe it’s $7k per semester

Congrats to all!

Twin A 4.0 UW/36 ACT $12k/yr
Twin B 3.2 UW/34 ACT $2.5 k/yr

Not sure the website is correct. My sons amount did not match what was online either.
Provost says $8.5-$12k /per year OOS. He got $5.5k per year.

Nope, it’s $7k per year. Since $7k is the amount of Trustee Scholarship for in state, I’m hoping they just made a mistake and pulled the wrong amount into her letter? I’ll call tomorrow to find out, but I have a feeling it might be hard to get through!

Hmm. That’s interesting. I was hoping maybe they just mistakenly issued the in state Trustee award to my daughter instead of the OOS award amount since in state is $7k per year, but given your son’s situation, now I’m not sure. You would think if they’re issuing an award that is about half of the stated range, they would just bump them down to the named scholarship that fits the amount of the award.

Please post what they say our offer is off too.

Something is off for you both. It just does not make sense.

That’s less than the OOS Delaware Scholar Award amount, never mind the Provost one. How can that be?

Received $14K / year
Would LOVEEEE to understand how they decide on $14K vs $15K/year
Honors Admit - 5.14W GPA - top 1% of graduating class - 1530 SAT

OOS. $12k per year. Also invited to honors college. Got better merit packages from better schools so this one is probably out for us.

OOS, $15,000 Trustee Scholarship. Grateful, but not enough to lure my kiddo out of state.

OOS DS received 2.5K per year. Although grateful not anywhere near what other schools have offered. UD is his first choice but now this threw a monkey wrench in the decision. The tuition, with this little merit, is way out of our budget. Any recommendation to request reconsideration or is this what it is. Thank you.

Congrats to all who received favorable merit! Best of Luck!

Fysa, we have called and been told by FA office that they have no room to negotiate or adjust award. Not sure if this is because of uncertainty in FAFSA awards but they will lose a lot of OOS commitments with no flexibility. Sometimes it’s better to give just $2k to make the person feel like they’re working with you. On top of that, the costs listed are 23-24. Who knows what 24-25 costs will be!

contact finaid. email/ call. the benefits on our portal were missing raiseme. we cannot find any total. look at the name of the scholarship, its in bracket range

Oh RaiseMe - I forgot we did that. I knew there had to be a reason it was more affordable in my mind. Is that meant to be a minimum or in addition to? Honestly, I almost wish we hadn’t done it. Wondering if that affected is award.

And he also has a named benefit with significantly less merit awarded.
