University of Delaware Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

looks for me, with or w/ o raiseme, they still place us under the same merit brackets. raiseme for us was a part of the same merit package, plus addons to meet the presidential they proposed.

My son received 56k/4yrs, 14k/yr
1420 SAT and 4.35 WGPA
3 Varsity Sports
OOS

Relative to offers from other Public Colleges, kind of underwhelming

Could you share some of the other offers ?

Offered in-state tuition at Florida State and U of South Carolina. Miami U also came out to be much cheaper.

Has any student received an email congratulating them on a merit scholarship, only to go their My Blue Hen page and still have the announcement about scholarships coming out mid-march?

I’m following what you find out. My kid was offered the Trustee which typically is 10-12K per the chart but their offer was $6500/year. Also did raise.me and it is slightly above that amount but less than the 12K per year sibling (2022) received with similar stats.

We got email directing her to portal, her award was there after clicking financial aid button

Of course my son is on class trip and an envelope arrived for him today

UDel is a GREAT chemE school. Congrats

Thanks! U Minnesota (another historical Chem Engg powerhouse) is our top choice at this point in time, but we do plan to visit UDel. Chem Engg is a brutally difficult major, so we are looking at colleges with other strong Engg majors.

they combine ur raiseme as a part of proposed trustee merit and ur proposed remaining 6.5k to make a trustee oos? 10-12k is presidential oos. trustee is higher. weve had a long discussion on udel merit/ 2024 threads. email them about the total

I ran a chemical eng dept and hiring decisions were about the quality of the student and not about the quality of the school. Over time, we had hired students from dozens of schools. I interviewed a poor candidate from MIT and a great candidate who came up through community college to a public tech school
and everything in between.

So, some schools are well known for certain majors like UDel for ChemE and that can’t hurt, but I think you can do well at UDel or Minnesota in a variety of Eng majors.

OOS D24 received $12K merit per year. invited to Honors. Congrats to everyone who received updates this week.

Anyone else not able to get into their financial aid tab which we used to view merits when they were issues a few days back? My button had me click and ask if we received any outside funding (employee assistance, veteran, tuition remission), which we have none of this. It says they will review and advise if any change to merit that we have been offered. Very confused by this and will not allow us to view the merit letter we receive the other day.

** Just completed form and now merit letter is back. Made me nervous for a little but bcs disappeared:)

Just a little update for anyone who did Raise Me and got merit that did not match their named scholarship. I messaged UD and they basically subtract Raise Me amount from the merit amount and that is the amount in your letter.

So his letter said Provost (listed on website as $8-12K per year) for $5,602 per year (which was confusing). His Raise Me amount (which I had completely forgotten about and was not mentioned in the letter) was $4,399. Together they total $10,001 per year (back in range for Provost).

It seems they will be sending Raise Me clarification at some point.
