Its a website that does “micro scholarships” - assigning values to certain tasks (taking the SAT, entering classes, doing sports). Certain schools (UD was the only school my son applied to that took it) will guarantee that amount in scholarship if submitted by a certain date. I cannot say I recommend it based on our experience but here it is: https://www.raise.me/
My son committed to Delaware today. We paid the deposit. He was also offered merit aid. I’ve been scrolling through his student portal. Is there a place somewhere where we “accept” his merit aid (by agreeing to the rules and stipulations)?
Also, is there a FB page for Delaware parents and/or admitted students like I’ve seen with other schools?
And, any insight on housing info resources? Wondering how Delaware helps pair up roommates, which dorms have the best and worst reps, etc.
Would appreciate any insight pointing us to resources, FB groups, etc.
Congratulations. Many FB groups for parents. Kids don’t use FB – use Instagram and other platforms. Kids can fill out a questionnaire and get potential matches that they would have to reach out to. Kids do not pick dorms – just preference for traditional or suite. Dorms are assigned. UD Parents Connect | Facebook
Thank you! Is there a student group somewhere (Insta, etc) where Imwe can ask opinions about traditional vs suite, particularly in light of their location with main campus?
HI! Not aware of Insta groups where you can ask ‘older’ students about traditional vs. suite. I would imagine Class of 2028 would have similar questions. My student graduated last year and definitely wanted traditional due to its location but it was a gamble for AC or not.
There are several UD parent pages on Facebook, just search. UD does a pretty good job picking roommates (not just our experience). Suite style tend to be farther from the action, and most have a/c. It can be easier to meet others in traditional style, shared hallway bathrooms, most don’t have a/c so hang out in common areas more, plus close to the action. They don’t necessarily get their first choice of dorm types.
