For schools on a trimester system, “midyear grades” means first trimester grades. so have the high school send them.
Those were sent to all schools almost two weeks ago though. It seems they might want to see more since this letter came a while after those would have been received? Like midway thru next tri and final winter tri? I think my child needs to ask college guidance counselor.
Does UD flat out reject any EA applicants typically, or do they just either admit/defer?
My son was rejected last Friday. No idea why. Accepted to Pitt, Ithaca, Seton Hall, New Paltz, and a few others EA.

The whole process is so incredibly random. Hate it. It sounds like your child has some excellent options though!

For those that have gotten in for Fall 2025 (congrats, btw!), has anyone received info on merit scholarships? Does anyone know when and if that happens?
My daughter said it states in the portal that they begin in January.

Sorry to hear that, but he has some other great options. What major did he apply for, and did he put a second choice as well?
Did he show demonstrated interest?

They attended one virtual presentation, but that’s it.
It might be a reason since they consider level of interest

On Dec 6, my son got this message:
On behalf of the Admissions Committee, thank you for your interest in the University of Delaware. In reviewing your application, we find that you meet the academic qualifications for many of the majors at the University, though at this time we cannot offer you admission to the major of marketing.
We believe your talents and achievements have prepared you to succeed at the University of Delaware), and we wish to offer you the opportunity to select another major for which you have been pre-qualified. Complete the alternate major selection form on your My Blue Hen Home portal. You may also use this form to formally turn down the offer to select another major at UD.
He was torn between two majors, so applied for the much harder one. UDel is still his 1st choice. He replied to the email with his other choice of major immediately. Did he hurt his chances by choosing the harder one first?

If they say he’s prequalified for the other major that sounds like he will get in!

Just to clarify, did he go to the portal and choose one of the majors he qualified for and submit the form or did he respond to the email as you stated? Only checking because it specifically states going to the portal annd complete the form and I don’t want to see him lose out on the opportunity!
You are so kind! He went to the portal and completed the form, selecting the major from a drop down list that it gave him. And he received an email confirmation.
