I applied for Applied Physiology and Kinesiology’s Excercise Physiology track in the college of Human Health and Performance last year and found out the first week of May. Unfortunately, I did not get in. I had a 3.5 GPA at the time.

I currently have applied to Health Science’s Pre-Occupational Therapy program and I am anxiously waiting to hear as well. Is anyone else applying to this college? I got an e-mail saying they were hoping to start giving decisions beginning sometime in March.

Did you have any extra curricular on your resume or a letter of recommendation?? and if you dont mind me asking. how many of the classes did you have done of the 8 pre req?

Hi guys I haven’t been on this thread since January and April is just around the corner, I think that’s when I get notified with their decision! I’m so nervous !!!

I had been volunteering at the hospital including in outpatient physical therapy where I was with the therapists and got to help with their therapy sessions. At that point, I probably had a little less than 100 hours. I also work, so that was on my resume. I had 6/8 classes finished, and I was taking the remaining two that semester. I had a letter of recommendation from my boss and one from a family who I work for. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about applying! Have you talked to DeEtta Rhodes? She’s an academic counselor for the program and is very helpful.

Looking back now and what I’ve done since then, I feel like my chances are a lot better for this program that I’m applying to now, and it seems like it will be a better opportunity for the career I want. Everything happens for a reason and I’m hoping my missed opportunity last year was so that a better door could open!

Term: Fall 2014 as a junior
Current School: University of Massachusetts-Amherst
GPA: 3.66
Credits: 86
Major Applied for: General Business (hoping to concentrate in sport management)
Extracurricular: 2 on campus leadership positions

I applied January 3rd to transfer for the fall 2014 term. I currently am a first year at the University of Central Florida. I have over 60 credits from college classes and AP credits and a 4.0 GPA. I’m also getting my AA at the end of this semester. I’m applying to major in Chemical engineer and I also got accepted as a freshmen for UF last year and qualified for the UF honors program but went to UCF because I had a scholarship there. My extracurricular is one club but I also have a job as a tutor. The big thing that worries me is I only had 5 of the 8 critical tracking courses completed when I applied but I will finish all 8 by the end of this semester. Do I still have a chance of getting in because of this?

yes ive talked to her over a dozen times through email and in person. i actually turned my application into her personally. i had over 200 hours done at a high school working with a PT/ athletic trainer and he was the one that wrote my letter of recommendation. i also put on my resume that i started working on a research project with UF staff and had several certifications like personal trainer and sports injury specialist. im jsut worried my GPA wont be competitive and that i only have 5 of the 8 classes done with me finishing the other 3 this semester.

for those who are still waiting, have you guys called the school? As soon as I had my transcripts in, I called the school 24/7 . in one day my application was reffered to my college. After that I called up the college and they told me that it was going to take 3 weeks. so basically it only took me a month from my application to get accepted. I applied to CLAS with a 3.4 so…

I see a lot of people being accepted before the deadlines. Does the university accept transfers through rolling admissions? In which case, sending in the application early would mean a better chance at acceptance?

Current GPA: 3.85 pre-prof:4.0
College/Major: College of journalism and Communications (Public Relations)
Term applied: Fall 2014
Credits: 75
Member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society

So my deadline for PR was March 4th, I submitted Feb.28th, and my transcripts arrived (after a debacle, and BEFORE being requested by UF) on March 21st. My application was officially sent to my college for final decision on the 31st. I’ve called to ask about wait time, and they’ve said that they are currently swamped (pun intended) with advanced registration students, so they sit down and look at transfer apps around one a week or so. She told me I should know within the next few weeks… We’ll see.

I’m addicted to figuring out everyone’s timeline on here… I know transfers can be admitted anytime, but it is still nice to try and piece things together!

I have a question does going to santa fe and then transfer into uf have affects on your future like grad school and should I go to santa fe and then transfer to uf(got rejected by uf) or go to USF where I got accepted. Which would be better for my future.

Sheel95, If you can get in as an undergraduate transfer to Santa Fe then no, it does not matter where you spent your first two years when applying to grad school. However, before you decide on Santa Fe talk to counselors in the program you would like to transfer into. Nursing and other health programs are more difficult to get into. UF has not accepted a transfer nursing student in years. Also, biology and psychology are very difficult to transfer into as they are their most applied to programs. I know that for psychology they look only at GPA when considering a student.

If you eventually would like to transfer to UF as an undergrad, then Santa Fe would be the best option because transfers from colleges are priority admission over state university transfers. Going to USF may be a little less stressful because you know you’re definitely in and it may take more than one semester to get accepted as a transfer to UF. Like I said, I’d talk to the counselors at UF of the programs you are interested in and ask them what you need to do before you decide. I know many people who have gotten into UF from SF, it’s just not always as easy as they make it seem. Good luck!
