University of Florida 2014/2015 Transfers

How important are extra curriculars

Hey guys! I’ve been looking at this thread for some time now and just received my decision.

I was accepted to UF for fall 2014 as a transfer from Seminole State College, a Florida CC.

Major: Criminology
GPA: 3.7 ; 4.0 Pre-Professional
PTK and other clubs as EC’s

Applied on 1/20/14, the college received all my information on 2/5/14. Finally, as I just said above I got accepted! 4/7/14! I will cherish this day haha congrats to all who have been accepted and good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Hey everyone! I was rejected for the summer term so I applied for the fall on March 30. I checked today and my app has been sent to my college for a final decision. Hopeful I will get in because my spring grades should bump up my GPA and help me get in this time. I have a 3.2 right now and this term should get me to at least a 3.3.

my application was sent to my college 2 days ago. I late dropped a class yesterday. Will UF see that?

also do you get an email when your status is updated and your decision is made or do you just have to log in and check everyday?

also do you get an email when your status is updated and your decision is made or do you just have to log in and check everyday?

I found out Thursday I got into the pre-occupational therapy program! I found out in the mail, and online it is still not saying my decision yet. Good luck to everyone else and make sure you’re checking your mailbox too!

Has anyone that applied to sports management gotten their decision yet?

@poolol when you fond out in the mail was it in a small envelope or one of those big envelopes? just wondering so I’m prepared to be denied if i look in my mailbox and see a small envelope haha

It was just a normal sized envelope :)

@poolol oh yay! thanks!

Did anyone see that we now have to have health insurance starting in Summer B 2014? Also did anyone call to check on their status? Is it worth an effort to call or do they tell you the same thing the website does?

I called today and all they could tell me was that they’re still finishing up summer applications and the latest we would know anything is July 15th.

@njmachi‌ Thats horrible to let students know that late. Some students actually have to relocate, find a place, meal plan, etc. It seems like this is the normal routine though since i applied to 2 other schools and have not heard back from those either  I did not think this transfer process would be so tedious

Hi! I applied to the Health Education and Behavior program at the College of Human Health and Performance. Has anyone here gotten accepted yet? Or know when they typically send out acceptance?

I submitted a term change request from summer to fall just last week. Does anyone know how long it takes for the office of admissions to process and send out decisions of these requests?

mluer001- I applied to that college last year and received my decision the first week of May.

@mak1994‌ I’m one of them! I don’t have the time to find a good place in under a month! I already signed up for classes at the school I’m attending now in case I hear back too late. I’m so anxious!

Is applying to the College of liberal Arts & Sciences (for Zoology Major) harder to get into than the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (for Animal Science Major)?
What colleges of UF are easy to get into?
I want to transfer to UF but I know it will be harder to transfer if I apply to a department that is extremely competitive. I’m on a pre-vet track, and choosing a major that isn’t science related is fine as long as I fulfill the Veterinary School undergrad pre-reqs.
I’m currently an undergrad bio major at FIU, and will be applying for an AA so that I can transfer. I want to go to UF because I’ve heard that the animal science classes are awesome and FIU doesn’t offer any animal science classes.

Thanks a bunch

How competitive is the zoology major?
