when did you son get accepted to UF? What did his profile look like? IS or OOS?
That is the purpose of the 2 essays UF asks for, best opportunity to elaborate on your life so far and what you want your future to look like
He was accepted in 2022, in-state, 1370 SAT, 3.98 UW, 4.6 core weighted the way UF determines weighting, tons of ECâs and rigor. Only took AP classes, no DE, but started UF with 30 credits from passing all his AP exams.
These two are honors essays, right?
No common app and required UF essay for the standard application
Ok, I see, one honors essay, and the most meaningful activities is a supplement essay not for honors.
Completely forgot about the supplemental essay! I thought it was just the CA one

what are my chances of getting in?
Looks like you have excellent ECâs! Your test scores are good as well, but do you know your GPA? UW and weighted?
forgot to mention - 8 aps, 4.47 weighted, 3.91 uw
Yeah, it has been a while. I do recall there are two essays in addition to the CA one, but thought both are for Honors.
Itâs hard to be definite with things like this, especially since UF tends to factor things like essays and holistic factors highly. However Iâd say you have a pretty good shot. Your test scores are in range, GPA is good as well, and your ECâs are amazing. No matter what decision you receive on Friday, you should be very proud of all you have accomplished!
I honestly like the way the resume represents my child more so than how it looks with the list of 10 activities + limited word count within the Common App.
Feel the same
Limited word count in the activities section was definitely a struggle! I felt like I couldnât properly convey my role in certain positions, but I guess it is what it is!
we do see that for our flagship Univ, but trend in Naviance for UF shows about 1/10 have been accepted year over year. I know this year, MANY could get in looking at the grid that was shared, but you just never know. We shall see. Good luck to all!
Just read on facebook that over 60,000 completed applications were received for this cycle.
Agreed! The essays add great value.
Is passing 4 & 5 or just 5 for UF?
I am looking at couple Texas schools I applied, 7 essays each, not counting several on a separate honors application. I am sure many donât like to write essays, but for me, just never had enough space
