Your number might change but you won’t jump over anyone ahead of you who is still going to UF. If your number is currently 2002 and the person who is number 760 drops out, everyone still in line moves up one spot.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. I just was not sure if they removed non-admitted students from the queue or just expected them not to sign-up.
Question about the housing: D is 90% sure she’s committing to UF and is very excited, but she wants to wait until early April for the rest of her RD decisions to come out before 100% committing. Can I go ahead and put the deposit for housing down before committing to UF or do we have to wait until she accepts?
Yes - you want to put down the housing deposit ASAP - and it’s only $25.00.

I put the deposit down months ago. I was wondering if the next deposit for an actual dorm is put down now or do we wait for that? It is probably a dumb question and I’m overthinking things.
The initial housing deposit of 25 bucks secures your place in line based on your initial date of deposit. Housing is essentially “first come, first served”. Once you commit you’ll get notice to sign up for preference of dorms.

So I made this thread for admitted student and families: UF Admitted Students/Families (Class of 2028). So if you are admitted and want to talk about things like housing and preview and stuff, we can talk about it there in a seperate area and leave this space for admission related info.

Is UGA not considered a fairly prestigious university? Actually, curious about this. I thought the admissions blog was/is a nice tool and the whole process seemed a lot more transparent than other schools….
We are OOS out west from an underserved state. I will say that once my daughter got into UF, she dropped UGA (we visited a year ago) from her top 3. She has VT, Clemson and UF in her top 3. We have never visited UF and I believe she has it in top 3 due to the prestige factor. I still believe she will decide between Clemson and VT…
I consider UGA, VT and FSU on par
UF and UVA on par
Clemson vs a Florida school academically I i say USF on par, but college experience different

100% agree what you put here. But the bottom line is your really can’t go wrong at any of these schools. They are all amazing!

I got my letter but they said it’s undeclared. Does UF offer direct admission to Business school?
For UF, once accepted, you can major in whatever you want (other than something like vocal performance which requires an audition).

Yes, everything but certain Fine Arts majors. To stay in the major you need to take the appropriate tracking courses and keep the tracking GPA.
