OOS student (applying from New York)
94.49/100 gpa 1490 SAT
My gpa isnât the best for people accepted to UF in my school (roughly 95-97/100) which is considered a big gap where I go to school but my SAT score seems to be above average by UF standards.
How heavily does UF treat SAT scores on their decision process? I have pretty solid extracurriculars, but was curious to see if anyone else had a similar experience with an average gpa but good sat score.
My Son is out of state but do not see any information to book a housing. of course results are not even released and see here many folks whoâve already booked. any pointers on how to go about booking is appreciated. thank you

I was thinking the same thing about there not being a lot of activity on this board compared to other colleges! Iâve searched for a different thread, perhaps there is a more active one, but I canât find one so itâs very surprising. Also, I must have missed this, but who is @Melissa96? Is this person in the AO? Just curious as they seem to know a lot and I just joined this thread recently.
The chart I shared is from UF common data set so it looks like gpa is more important but they do recalculate your gpa (only core courses English, math, science, foreign language, history) and add .5 for honors and +1 for AP, DE etc.
My daughterâs portal looks different this morning. There are new tabs (application materials and connect) that werenât there previously. Curious if everyone sees the same?

Correct - I wouldnât expect it does. The site is just updated and isnât on a conditional basis. The content that shows on the other hand can be.
There are some colleges were certain changes mean something, but UF has not historically been one of them.
Took this on the way to my 8:30 class this morning. Itâs a beautiful (but chilly) day in Gainesville, and a perfect day to extend the gator nation!

My daughter says some of her classmates have âundeterminedâ under residency and some have âFloridaâ ? It probably just means some parents havenât completed proof of residency but the kids all think it means something.
