OOS and deferred. Expected. Not my child’s first choice school though / probably 4th out of 5 and he’s in at his top 3. Hoping for acceptance as an option but it’ll be ok. Congrats to all who got in !

They stressed to us this year during campus visits that they take a holistic view at admissions. This is inline with the EA results from the in state applicants a few weeks ago.

ACCEPTED!!! She about fainted from the stress!

UGA GPA 4.18 (I think), 1430 SAT, 9 APs plus a lot of rigor, class prez, 4 year letter, and a unique EC.

Stuff that may or may not matter: legacy, born in Athens, Calc 3, 4.82 weighted GPA

We’re all so excited for her!

Son was deferred and UGA was his #1 choice. Checked U of SC portal at 3:55pm and was accepted to Sports Management program which was his #2. He is excited as his sister is a current Gamecock!
OOS, TO, 3.78UW, 4.4W, 9APs, strong ECs and a lot of leadership in school and community.

OOS Daughter was accepted with 1/2 OOS tuition waiver
1510 SAT, 34 ACT (35 Math, 35 English)
4.0 UW (homeschooled, but nearly all high school grades assigned by outside instructors)
5 AP (AP was not a major focus for us)
Awards & ECs mostly in languages/linguistics

Congrats to all admitted and deferred… DS didn’t have the stats to compete with the numbers shown… kudos to Mr. Graves for running a good cycle… very transparent and drama free release.
Enjoy Athens! Do take a trip there if you’ve never been… Best of luck to all !

Dr Graves does an amazing job. How do you be holistic with this volume of applications? They seem to be. It seems like a really competitive year for UGA and generally based on taking to friends.

his initials are D.R. Graves… and email is drgraves… and gets called Dr. Graves on the blog… but on his social he says he’s not a Dr… but he is the voice of UGA admissions… and has my respect…just wish other schools could emulate their process…good luck in Athens…

Yep. David R. Graves :grinning: Not a doctor, just his initials.

I agree. I love his blog and transparency of the UGA application process. (side note: Rick Clark at Ga Tech is equally awesome about sharing their process.)

Yep…my OOS kiddo had 1460 and got declined. Honestly it is better than deferred because now we can move on. Congrats to everyone! Quite an accomplishment to get into any college these days.

Honestly, I didn’t expect to be so excited by a UGA acceptance, but I am. Such a tough year. I feel blessed to be accepted OOS. I wish the best to those deferred and looking. So many great schools and UGA is one of them. I think northerners like me don’t realize how hard UGA has become. I have more applications open, but feel like UGA is so incredibly competitive OOs at this point.

This is daughter’s first deferred letter so far . She got into Clemson which is her 1st choice. They make it sound like they didn’t get around to viewing her application. Is this standard ?

What a wild admission cycle.

Grateful S24 got accepted. 4.0 us, 4,33 GA gpa, 1400. Student council prez, varsity captain, part time job 3 years, etc etc.

Just grateful. This is a top choice.

OOS son deferred tonight. It’s ok. He got into Rice and TCU yesterday. Congratulations to to those of you who got in! You just got accepted to an awesome school! To those who did not, keep going. Your best match is not UGA. Something that is better suited for you is coming your way.
