Thank you again!
SRAR question: I took âAP Calculus ABâ in 10th grade at my high school and got 2 credits as shown on my high school transcript. At the same time, I also got Calculus I and Calculus II credits (5 credits for each course) from local college for this high school AP course through the College in the High School program. Should I report this course under 10th grade at my school or under college? Iâm confused. Please help.
AP Credits are not actual courses you enrolled in college. You can report the AP score under testing if you wish to.
Probably my question is a bit confusing. I actually took the AP Calculus AB course at my high school.
AP Calculus AB can be in 10th grade as it will be in your high school transcript. Is calculus I and II dual college credits or just college credits? if its dual then it gives you both high school and college credit and can be added along with your other grades in 10th grade(your counselor would have done all of this by now, your transcript from last year should show this even if you donât have this years transcript yet). If its only a college credit then it will go under community college transcript, it will not be in your school transcript
If Calc I and II are on the HS transcript, put them under your HS section on the SRAR. If not on the HS transcript, you add the college to the school section of the SRAR and then input those courses and their grades (matching the CC transcript exactly.)
We had the same question and while this approach seems logical, the SRAR specifically says to âadd each college youâve attended or plan to attend prior to enrolling at Illinois, INCLUDING those through which you took dual credit classesâ I looked up UIUCâs def of dual credit class and it seems to fit the Calc scenario described above. So now Iâm confused again
When in doubt, contact UIUC admissions and askâŠthey have the final word.
Daughter submitted application last night(OOS). She doesnât need to submit official scores from College board until she is admitted, correct? She did enter the SAT score on application
Yes.
It is answered in the FAQ below, under if reporting test scores
Hi, daughter entered by mistake a course detail wrong on SRAR and submitted. Admissions told us to use the course change form to update the course. Its been more than 24 hours since she updated but not seeing any changes to the course. Anyone knows how long it can take to see the updated changes? thanks!
Folks , should we go test optional with 1390 SAT score. I am thinking it would make sense . any suggestions
We need more information. What major? In state or out of state? GPA? Course rigor?
OOS, Weighted GPA :4.73, 7 APs
What major? UIUC admits by major so that is a big part of it. Whatâs your unweighted GPA(on a 4.0 scale)?
3.82, Trying for Industrial and computer engineering
Computer engineering is not available as a second choice major, so is that the first choice major and industrial the second choice?
To answer your test score question, I probably wouldnât submit a 1390 unless the student is FGLI or that score is well above their HS average. The 1390 is well below the 25% mark of admitted studentsâ 3 year average and 81% of admitted students over the last 3 years submitted scores. With that said, as an OOS student with no test scores, that will make those majors even reachier than they already are.
Does your student have any relevant AP math test scores?
OOS 3.9UW/4.31W GPA, PSAT/NMSQT Semifinalist, ACT 35, so far 10 APâs and good ECâs. Interested in CS major & econ minor ⊠need advice for 1st choice and 2nd choice. Any info on acceptance rate?
Applying directly to CS+Economics major might be easier admission than trying to get CS Admission and adding a minor in economics. Second choice is harder to pick as most cs or engineering majors are not available. maybe pick econ if there is enough interest.
Problem is I didnât do any ecâs related to Econ, did FBLA came Top 10 in state. I am doing AP Micro and Macro sr yr.
