<p>It is unfortunate that people were arrested and that police in riot gear had to be used. I was on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill after UNC won the national championship last year, and while the celebration was ridiculously wild, cops were cool and there were only two arrests, despite tens of thousands of people being present. Someone-either UM students or the police in the area-likely overreacted; right now I’m leaning towards saying the police were a bit too heavy-handed.</p>
