That’s incorrect. As per their website, they actually increased direct CS enrollment. What they’ve done is reduce the number of transfers.

If the student is not interested in the courses they would have to do as part of computer engineering then they should choose CS at UDel or others.
Personally I don’t think being in honors college or not matter that much for getting job’s from what I have seen.
Yes, UMD increased direct CS Freshman enrollment to 600 from 450 but cut their transfers from 1000 to 100. So overall, the enrollment is cut to less than half from 1450 to 700.

Yes all transfers internal and external are now limited to 100
Not sure what staff they are referring to - they hired more advisors this year than they had had in the past, so some newer faces, and have also hired some new faculty members. I know of no exodus of staff nor faculty from the program.
No, you said they cut freshman and transfer slots. We only cut transfers and increased freshmen!
When I said direct CS enrollment was increased, I meant freshman admits.
They told a friend of mine there was a glitch in the system wherein his transcript looked to have the wrong date on it but he’d be evaluated EA and get a decision in 10 days. Definitely email the office if every date in your portal shows it was there by 11/1
I called them, they said they had not received my transcripts, but my counsellor submitted it in oct, and every other university has received it.
You should call and speak with an AO. There is a glitch in the UMD portal, where you might be missing a second transcript for de. The portal says application is complete when it is not. This may not affect you, but you should check. Anyone not accepted at the deadline they expected should check with an AO. This has affected a few students in the previous two years. If this missing component is not turned in, you may never get accepted. UMD refused to correct this when students called too late, say April or May.

This is why, for other prospective students reading, you have to, for each college, constantly look at their admission portals (weekly) - so if something is off,/ missing, you can have it addressed.
I am very sorry to hear of your situation. Would UMD still accept your transcripts at this stage? Can you show them proofs that your transcripts were sent in time, and hopefully to strengthen your request (plea) to have your application evaluated as soon as possible?
my checklist has been complete for the last 3 months, I have regularly been checking it.
Do you have DE credits or did you attend more than 1 high school?
they said they will take it, but the fact of the matter is, I have submitted them 3 months back, now they are saying your Cambridge A level results cannot be ur high school transcripts, but the thing is we do not have course work, all year along we have rigorous daily preparatory classes for these A level exams. and no other school has had a problem, I have been accepted to 8 so far. so I don’t really get what problem does uni of Maryland have, and even if they found a problem with the transcripts, they had 3 months to update me about it, like every other school has been doing if at all ur checklist isn’t complete ( in this case it has been since 27th oct )
no, I am an intl student, we have the A level curriculum which gives us enough credits to atleast cover 3/4th of the freshman year
UMD doesn’t chase down applicants to get missing documents. Unfortunately, it is what it is. Are you able to submit what they’re asking for? If yes, let them know you’ll send it in asap and they might agree to evaluate you as an EA applicant.
