Doesn’t show you acceptance by major, and certainly chatgpt wouldn’t have it.

This is in no way factual nor correct. Do not spread that falsity.
Anyone here attend an admitted student open house? There’s one more on the calendar (April 8) and my son (Smith school of business) wants to attend, but admissions tells him they are at capacity and not accepting any more registrations. I’m curious to know if he’s missing out on worthwhile event.
We attended Admitted Student Day on March 1 for CS. Very well done presentations. Seemed like there are lots of research and club opportunities for kids.
We ate at the Yahentamitsi dining hall. Food was quite good. Given that we had eaten at UMass, known for the reputation of its food, last weekend, this was a pleasant surprise.
The campus has serious construction going on, about the only downside we could find.
We were there on Monday March 25 and had similar reactions. I was surprised at how nice the campus was…lots of green spaces, the brick buildings looked great and students/faculty were friendly. Downsides were the extensive construction (seemed like the entire campus and even locations near campus are all under construction at once) and we weren’t thrilled about College Park as a town - just didn’t seem like much around except strip malls and office buildings. But overall a positive visit!
We attended Admitted Students Day on March 11 and it helped move UMD into the top 2 for S24. We didn’t have time to visit a dining hall but we attended sessions for every program to which he was invited and they were very well done. If you can get in, I highly recommend.
Is UMD’s commit date still May 15th? One of our schools is now June 1st.
Yes. It still shows May 15th. Some privates have May 1st, Some have June 1st. So important to keep track of various commit dates if you are considering multiple colleges.
Has anyone received departmental scholarships from college of Engineering recently? My S24 hasn’t. Not sure if that means he is not getting any.
Are freshmen eligible for those awards? Did your son have to apply?
I know that the Agricultural college said by April 1st.
During the admitted student tour day, we were told that all freshmen, at least for Engineering, are eligible for those awards. There are no separate applications.
Engineering college said by April 1st too. I guess no news is bad news.
Regular Decisions are out.
Anyone know how to check for financial aid awards? Checking the applicant portal and terpmail and see no links about financial aid or FAFSA. Thankjs
I cannot edit my post but found the answer about where to check for financial aid awards. Nothing yet. Student Portal | OSFA Testudo v5.14.07
I emailed the financial aid office and I was told by May 3rd!
Some colleges have not extended the enrollment deadline past May 1. Disappointed in the late financial aid offers from UMD.
Our schools that use the CSSProfile, like GW, have not extended the admission deadlines for us. All our public schools have extended their deadlines. It would be nice if all the schools would extend their deadlines, but I guess they don’t care. They get students either way.
