I was denied “admission” to the class of 27 parent group because im not an active FB user! ![]()
There’s a 1,000 +/- freshman each year that enroll/admitted in the Spring.
Yes… my DD is one of those…
Same here. I was denied the FB parent group. But I don’t maintain much of an online presence due to work.
Sorry, I’m getting my years mixed up! I haven’t quite gotten used to the fact that it’s 2024! My son was admitted to Freshman Connection so I’m familiar with the program but I was thinking of the error that occurred this year where they stated 2026 instead of 2025.
There are lots of spammers that try to infiltrate college groups on FB. It’s fair for the group to want to know they’re admitting a parent.
Nope, it said Spring 2025.
Yes, but my daughter was finalist and withdrew prior to interview/offer therefore I would hope that would increase the chances for someone who had UMD higher on their wish list. Great school and great scholarship but daughter didnt want to go 20 miles away from home.
If a student says no to a Scholarship from UMD, it is not given to someone else.
Okay
@FXdad20232025 I temporarily changed my facebook profile photo to my face to get accepted to the group. I’ll be changing it back now that I’m in.
They will not change the website, as those hoh got more than the $12,500 actually got the additional funds from a different source as highly regarded admits (though it was all packaged together).
Nope, they know not all offered an interview will take it, which is why they invite closer to 400 when it used to be 325-350 interviews.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to join the main group to get info after June. 1.
Main group?
I think they mean the enrolled students group.

How would ChatGPT know this?
Its data is over two years old and UMD does not publish acceptance rates by major.
