does anyone know how honors college admittance works? this is the only school I’ve applied to that automatically considers students and doesn’t have like a separate app. Is it like a cutoff for scores and stuff or do they just pick people?
Ya thats been there for a while, I messed around with it for a while the other day but it doesn’t open anything as of now. obviously, thatd be a huge security flaw.

For Coalition, you click on the colleges tab and it would probably be under your University of Maryland application. They will send an email when your decision is released.
@vandygrad87 It’ll be on the same page as the checklist button currently is. Either the checklist button will be replaced or there will be a new button below it that says “decision letter” or something like that
@mfmtb01 - The Honors College has its own Admissions Committee and they do a holistic evaluation. There are NO specific STAT criteria, although all Honors College students tend to have High STATs. I believe that this is where the other parts of the application start to make a difference.

Hey folks, I just called UMaryland Admissions out of curiousity because I’m at desk and had time to wait. It was about a 20 minute hold. I just asked would the admissions results for early action be shared sometime today and he answered flatly, “if you haven’t received results by 11:59p on Feb 1 then you can call back” and I said, well that’s a Saturday so results could come out on weekends? And he says irritatingly, “yep”. So just wanted to share.
I get that they are probably getting a lot of calls but I would imagine that the customer service should be alittle better than that. So I’m not sure what it takes to get the results out, and I definitely don’t take that for granted, but it seems like there should be a little better messaging, especially on a day like today.

Question? within the coalition app Maryland button - does it state if you applied early action? I see in my sons that another school he applied to stated early action but Maryland does not???
If UMD followed UVA’s lead and actively managed peoples expectation on a blog, on Twitter or on IG, then they wouldn’t have as many people calling them trying to find out information. Applicants would know with certainty when the decisions were scheduled to be released and could sit back and wait patiently. Kudos to Dean J at UVA for her transparency.

They supposedly come out today at 5pm but the official date is Feb 1st!
@DBark If you review the past several year’s admissions decisions for UMD, they were always released on the last Friday in January. I would be surprised if they held it past today at 5:00PM.
I swear if they release my decision on Saturday
