So dumb man I don’t wanna wait a whole week
Agree, defeats the purpose of Early Action. I really like Clemson’s approach when they release EA decisions on December 15
I was just talking about this with a friend. Apply by 10/15 and the longest you’re waiting if you’re deferred at Clemson is til 2/15. I feel like they should all be that way to give kids time to revisit schools in the spring before making a decision. I know UMD doesn’t defer but most other schools do and these kids are often waiting until march or April if it’s a top choice.
Okay… I’ve given up hope… it’s next week… see you guys lol
To be continued…
It’s ■■■■■■■■
Doesn’t the housing portal open for all students and not just new admits? That’s how it is at DD‘24 college.
It opened for returning students in November, and closes in Feb
But new admits includes “spring admits” who did not do freshman connection. Maybe the housing portal opened for them?
The move in date for transfer students and spring admits was yesterday (10 am for new residents and 12 pm for returning students). The spring term starts tomorrow. New students would already have housing if classes start tomorrow.
Don’t know if this info was posted before: Last year (2024), decisions came out on Friday January 26. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.
Nothing will happen tomorrow. They’ve always released on the last Friday of January. There was some speculation this year that it might have been this last Friday because there were 5 Fridays this month, but since that didn’t happen 31st it is.
The wait is killing us.
CS has been an LEP major since 2018-2019 so nothing has changed as of late. Students are first admitted to UMD, and if admitted for fall, then the LEP major committee reviews them specifically for their major.
CS is almost impossible to get into after the fact. If your heart is set on CS and don’t get in, you should strongly consider another school.
Does the same hold true with Engineering, specifically Aerospace?
Correct!
No, engineering is a non-competitive LEP, students need to meet the requirements listed to declare the major if not initially admitted as a freshman: Limited Enrollment Program : University of Maryland
Thanks, appreciate the info!
Thanks so much for your contributions. Much appreciated!
For the benefit of readers, would you be able to share stats on how many students (after the new rules went into effect last year) tried to transfer into CS after not being directly admitted initially, and how many of them were accepted?
I understand if this is not public information and you’re unable to share, but in case you can, that will be very helpful to applicants.
Thanks again.
