Did anyone else applying to Frost receive notification that they were placed on the waitlist for a different major and school than what they indicated on their application? My D applied to Frost for Music Business & Entertainment Industries and second choice as Musicianship/ArtistryDev/Entrepreneurship on her Common App. However, the letter that she received last night said that she was waitlisted for the College of Arts and Science as an Undecided major. We went back and double checked her Common App to make sure that she did not accidentally select the wrong information. We were just wondering if they sometimes change the college and major if you are not accepted into the one that you indicated on your application? Just wondering if this is a mistake?
My D also had the same thing. I just put in a call and left a voice mail. Seemed weird that they didn’t even address the app/audition to Frost.
@OZmom66 my D called office of admissions and the gentleman wasn’t very helpful just “I guess you didn’t get into the music program.”

For those who got a letter, did the school also send you an email? My S’s portal says he was accepted into the Arts and Sciences school (the major not indicated) - but I’m wondering if he was accepted into the BFA-Acting program. It’s easier to keep looking at the email, but if there is no email - then we’ll keep looking at the portal.
Same question for those who got scholarships. Did you get a separate email?
@OZmom66 and @MMDEMOM My D had the same letter. We did all the same things, double checked common app to make sure her choice of major was Frost. I emailed this morning and Frost responded to confirm it is not a mistake. My D was not admitted to Frost and was waitlisted for Arts and Sciences because she is a “strong candidate”. IT’s all very strange.
I’m sorry I can’t give better news. I hope you have some other options.

Thanks @diglass and @MMDEMOM for responding. I guess it was wishful thinking on our part that maybe it was a mistake. We had not contacted UM yet, so now we won’t bother. My D does have several other good options, so it is ok. She did really like UM, and it was high on her list, but I don’t think that she will stay on the waitlist - time to move on. This whole process is just a little nerve wrecking!
Yes, Thanks @diglass . My D has options and this just narrows her list down even more. One more college left to hear from, but I know she knows where she wants to be already. It’s definitely nerve wracking @OZmom66
BTW, I literally just found this forum a few days ago and appreciate all the insights I’ve found, except it might have made me even more neurotic about asking her to check portals, etc.

did anyone receive any financial/scholarship information in their letter? I still have nothing updated in my scholarship/financial aid thing on cane link… I called and they said this means I didn’t get any money… has anyone from frost received any kind of financial information yet? My letter came at 10am this morning in my messages (the official one)
@musicviolaplayer who did you call and speak to? Regular admissions? Most of the people manning those phones are students and don’t know anything. I emailed Frost admissions this morning and posted the response in an earlier post. Go look at my post from this morning. You’ll get another email later today from Frost and the FA will update then.
Has any Frost person received Scholarship information? If so, did it come with your acceptance letter or under separate cover? I haven’t received anything, but when I called Admissions they said I’ve been given a Presidential scholarship. I won’t believe it until I see it. Has anyone else in Frost received?
So how many messages are we looking for? Three ? Admission, Financial Aid, and Merit Scholarship?
@JerseyParents I believe it’s three. I received the admission letter this morning. Then around 4:45 I received a note from Financial Aid saying I was missing a document.
When I called to prove I sent the document, I asked about scholarships and the admissions person said I’ve received presidential and she said I should hear soon.
It’s all kinda crazy!
@anthony1968 my D was accepted to Frost and found scholarship info tonight in message center, not under financial aid. She has been offered Presidents music scholarship pus an additional $11.5K. It is very generous!! Then the usual work study and federal loan stuff so it looks cost free
