I still haven’t gotten a decision I’m so confused
Anyone who thinks they haven’t gotten a decision check your message center in Canelink. It’s kikely there. My friend missed it yesterday and sent me a screenshot and I saw it said “Messages (1)” and circled it and sent it back to her. Her rejection letter was there ? She had the green dot too.
I checked the message center a few times and I still don’t see anything. The last message I got was in January when I got deferred
also where is the green dot located. I don’t see that anywhere
'm an international and I got my acceptance yesterday. But I did not receive any aid package. Does this mean it is yet to come or was I not awarded any aid?
@lau2555 same thing for me
@mickeyd19 yes thanks that’s what I was asking about. My D isn’t a music major, but Miami offers other merit scholarships as well though she didn’t get one.
My D did say that when she went for an info session not long ago that they stated that only ED and EA applicants are eligible for merit aid awards, but I find that very hard to believe. What do they do with the awards of the kids that choose not to go to UM? And certainly there are many qualified candidates that get evaluated in the RD pool.
@raej3west We went to an infor session 2 days ago. They said only EA and ED1 applicants are eligible for premier scholarships, but that there are other scholarships that others are eligible for. I assumed there would be more info on the website, so didn’t ask questions. My D was waitlisted yesterday, so no longer relevant to us ATM.
no decision yet for me im mad
@joeycorp Clarinet is his primary instrument. He also plays oboe, flute, and sax and wants to be a woodwind doubler. We were shocked (and very pleasantly surprised) about the scholarship. I was expecting very little, if anything at all. Do you think it’s an indication of how much they want him?
@raej3west they either gave her bad info or maybe Frost has different procedure because most of their students have to audition. that’s an interesting point about what happens to scholarship money when kids choose a different school. i’m sure there are laws governing how the money gets appropriated.
@lesimpson4 same here.
Hey does anyone know if they are still sending aid package to admitted students?
My D is a transfer who applied for their theatre program and she hasn’t heard yet either. No messages and it doesn’t say canceled. Her friend who applied as a transfer two years ago said she heard late and got in
So, did @SlimJim005 get into U of Miami?
@tmeg01 That’s what I keep coming back to see. @SlimJim005 we’re all hoping for the best. Please let us know.
@gamom2023, I’m as concerned for SlimJim005 as my own D.
He has developed quite a following on CC.
@tmeg01 Same here! The suspense is killing me!
how worried should I be if i have no decision yet
As mentioned earlier, D was waitlisted. In case anyone else is wondering, I looked it up. According to their 2018-19 CDS, UMiami waitlisted 10,405 applicants, 4,041 accepted a spot on the waitlist, and 30 were ultimately admitted. Puts that waitlist in perspective. Basically a soft rejection.
I got accepted 3/22 to their business school. I got a message for scholarship/financial award of 10k/year. However it doesn’t say anything about aid or grants. Does this mean I don’t receive any aid? Or is it just scholarship
