University of Miami Class of 2023

@nis2019 There are no major or interest-based floors.

is anyone still waiting on their financial aid packages ??

@pingenstuff yes

@pingenstuff me too

I thought they will be releasing today, but they didn’t. Did anyone got anything, even some legitimate answer of when they will be releasing the aid for so many of us.

May I ask why it is that Miami didn’t send the financial package along with the admitted letter to everyone still waiting for it?

Were you all missing information? Did you apply late? For us, they requested information that no other school asked for even though our FAFSA was complete. I am just wondering why so many people are waiting to hear back from them, when I thought for the most part FA was sent out with the acceptance letter.

i was also asked to send in other stuff when i got my acceptance letter. they said i had until april 9th to get it all in ā€œin order to secure the maximum amount of funding availableā€. still haven’t heard anything back

@pingenstuff Ok, we are in the same boat. I met with Financial Aid face-to-face at accepted student day and brought up the April 9th date since it was April 7th, expressing my concern that there would be no more aid, and the woman said ā€˜that isn’t true’. Have no idea if she was telling me the truth or not, but I was sitting at her desk, in her cubicle, and she wouldn’t even give me her email or phone number to check on things…I figured since she was familiar with my S’s case she would be the person to contact if I had any more questions once I got home. She wrote something down on a post-it and handed it to me, but rushed us out. When I looked at the post-it, it only had the main number to the school on it! No email. No name. No direct line. That really turned me off. But still hopeful and still waiting! Please post if you hear anything! The last thing they said to me on Friday was it’ll take 2 weeks.

so weird they aren’t giving out any legit contact information to those asking. two weeks from friday is definitely cutting it close! i’ll let you know if i hear anything. thanks for the info!

@Propinquity4444 @pingenstuff that was one of the many reasons why my D said thank you, but no thanks. Reading a lot on this forum(which I know some of the info is false) I am very happy my D didn’t choose the U. Even though at one time it was her #1. Very shady at best. When we were talking to Miami every time we called and asked the same question we received a different answer. Not how we operate. Be honest, even if the honesty isn’t politically correct or it may hurt our feelings or isn’t the answer we wanted. Just be honest. But with that said that was our experience. The best of luck to all. The U in my eyes is still a great institution. Just wasn’t the right fit.

How long after your applications were deemed complete did you guys receive your admission decision?

@isaaxx Met the deadline for Early Action, so November 1st? Recieved admission on 3/28, but that was because an audition was involved. Most EA students heard back before Christmas, I think.

FA package finally arrived. Pleased.

@Propinquity4444 Was it merit from Frost or need-based aid? We’re also waiting.

@joeycorp The merit came with the original acceptance letter. This was the FA package I was waiting for.

when I spoke with Financial Aid they said they would miss the May 1st deadline for some people… so some of us may get it on May 6th and on… they just don’t know when they will finish processing

just got off the waitlist for fall 2019:)))

Did you get a phone call

@Doggirl44 I got a phone call when I got off the waitlist

S also got phone call offering place from waitlist.
